Exhaust options for phase II GTV Spider?
Discussion
I've been looking around for a replacement sports exhaust for a 2.0 TS GTV Spider but not really found much is available from the mainstream exhaust manufacturers (peco, ansa, mongoose etc).
Anyone replace theirs or have any links or info about any?
The standard exhaust is a bit restictive and doesn't sound great until revved high....
Cheers!

I think I'll go for the Ragazzon rear straight thru section but from Gazella as they are £50 less for the same product.
Is that the unslienced one like this? www.gazzella.cc/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=17455&category_id=431
That's the one, won't be too loud for road use will it?
Well, I really miss the noise of my TVR, so I decided to go loud with the rear section and have just 2 silencers and the CAT and I went for the twin oval rear pipes
I don't mind if it drones a bit as this isn't an everyday car; regarding the MOT - there are no rules on noise levels, only defective exhausts (holes or leaks) so should be OK as long as the tester isn't an idiot or easy cash seeker!
It should be here in a few days and I'll fit it next weekend all being well. I'll post on this thread again and let you know what I think.

I was hoping you'd say that
That's a great site, the Gazella one, I can see myself getting the Tarox disc upgrade (£250) as I'm not entirely happy that the thing stops as quickly as I'd like, and the FK Coilover suspension upgrade kit (£450), and the exhaust.....either the one I'm looking at which is £220, or the one you're going for. Be ready for a summer of hooning around then.
That's interesting as I find my brakes really effective, are your discs and pads all OK?
The ride and handling I know is a bit soft for very spirited driving and cornering but I really do think it does a pretty good job without making the ride uncomfortable. Mine feels pretty fresh since it's only done 40k miles but when I do need to pay attention to any of the suspension I think I'll go for standard parts. One thing I think would be a good addition is a strut brace but other than that I think I'll keep it all standard, perhaps polly bushes are also a good idea.

That's the one I have fitted in an otherwise standard system, it is pretty quiet(burbles nicely at idle though), I would rather it was slightly louder but it is a good compromise between sounding good and still being refined on a long run.
I'm very impressed with Gazella, just had a call from them to talk through the options for my car and verify that it's a TS not a V6 because I'll need to do away with 2 rear boxes and that it'll be considerably louder (too loud in the V6 apparently), confirmed that it should sound nice in the TS and probably not too loud. They also let me know there will be a slight delay and that they will email me a confirmation and tracking number when it arrives with them from Ragazzon.
Very good service!
It arrived
Got it on Friday, fitted it on Friday, smiling all of Saturday onwards
It sounds great!
Not too noisy but a nice burble and a bit of a roar when pressing on (sounds great in tunnels)
Sounds even nicer after a bit of a run when it is hotter.
The throttle response is improved too

Cool
I'm getting a two port back box from AutoDelta and a Sports Cat section from Alfaholics, they should at my house today, I'm going to pop a sports air filter from AD in to.
Hope I'm as pleased with mine as you are!
Btw also just ordered an aftermarket wind stopper to go behind the seats......gets a bit blowy in there when pressing on down a motorway!
Hey timmy, sounds like you are making some good upgrades there.
Where did you buy your wind deflector from?
I think my wife would like one of those
Uhhm a sports CAT
The wind stop sounds a good idea; Mrs Kentish always moans about having the roof down. The closest I got this weekend was roof down and windows up but only because it was my Birthday
However, Mrs K did buy me a nice reg number for said Birthday - any lady who buys nice car related Birthday pressies is a keeper

Most problems with aftermarket filters do seem to be with the V6, so you may be ok on the TS.
Personally, my opinion is that the potential gains are slight and the potential pitfalls large.

Did you mention to me that you can replace the later restrictive induction pipes on the air cleaner with the earlier less restrictive ones?
Anyway, if not I know that someone did recently.
This sounds a sensible modification.

You right, it was you. Thanks
I may look into doing this mod for a little extra induction, probably make that new exhaust of mine sound even nicer too!
