I dread to think what your accuracy rating is...My prefferred CoD 4 weapon of choice (and by far the best weapon in the game:

The M4 is just a brilliant gun, surely a legend of the future?
Also although it is slower than the SAW and less powerful then the M60 it is better than average at both so is a great all rounder. Lastly it has a good standard sight so you can use the 'grip' perk for better accuracy and not have to use the red dot sight.
I am definately not someone who just sprays the map with lead but if there is someone hiding in some grass you can effectively mow down an entire field and ensure the kill before a reload is needed.

If we're talking 'Legendary' then we shouldn't forget the apocolyptically powerful Lazy Gun...
"A Lazy Gun is roughly half a metre long, 30 cm wide and 20 cm tall. On the front are two short cylinders that end in black lenses. A sight extends from the main body, as do two hand grips. A metallic strap allows the Lazy Gun to be fired from the waist. On one hand grip is a zoom control and on the other grip is a trigger mechanism. The Lazy Gun is "light but massy", and weighs three times as much when turned upside down. The Lazy Gun is the only weapon known to display a sense of humour.
To fire the Lazy Gun, it is pointed at the target, zoomed in, and then the trigger is pulled. What happens next is unpredictable. When fired at humans, many different things may occur. An anchor may appear above the person, giant electrodes may appear on either side of the target and electrocute them or an animal may tear their throat out. Larger targets such as tanks or ships may suffer tidal waves, implosion, explosion, sudden lava flows or just disappear. When fired at cities and other such targets, thermonuclear explosions are the norm, although in one instance a comet crashed into the city."

Very sad to say this I know, but one of my greatest gaming moments was when playing a 4 player deathmatch on Quake 2 against my mates I actually managed the near impossible 'triple kill' one shot through them all.Watching all three of thier screens go red at the same time was awesome.[/nerd mode]
Anyway back on topic.

Ah, it's the GAU-8 (IIRC Gun Armament Unit) as fitted to the A-10 Tank buster. It fires depleted uranium core shells, and a burst can destroy a Tank. It's so awesome, they designed the plane around it, and it's bigger than a VW Beetle....Jumbo Gatling!
I though have a memory of it from when I was a kid and they used to do runs along the Suffolk coast.
The rounds are 30mm in diameter and about 11.25" long, IIRC.
There is an A-10 at Duxford if you want a closer look.

Because the shells travel above supersonic speeds over a decent range you will be dead long before you hear the gun even fire.

HOLY st!
Also if we are talking A10's it was developed with Hans-Ulrich Rudel the greatest 'Stuka Ace'.
The orignal tank busting plane, strapping not one but two 37mm anti-tank weapons on a plane, who says ze Germans don't have fun. Legendary 'gun' in a loose sense
Stuka JU-87 G-1
Rudels crazy confirmed killed list:
in 2,530 combat missions (a world record)
2,000 ground targets
519 tanks
70 assault craft/landing boats
150 self-propelled guns
4 armored trains
800 other vehicles
9 planes (2 Il-2's and 7 fighters)
2 cruisers
1 destroyer
1 battleship

But the huns were actually first with a dedicated anti tank aircraft design with the HS-129, although it suffered from inadequate production numbers and poor engines to ever be really effective.
Good write up on heavy calibre aircraft guns here (get in quick before geocities is shut down!)
