Looking on the bright side - with that modification you're going to be a good bit quicker hitting the Enter key. nerd

Seeing as you have time on your hands read this:

I guarantee you'll feel your lot isn't bad afterwards.

My thumb looked like that once, luckily I was drunk enough that I just grabbed it with my other hand, gave it a quick pull and bingo, back in place.
Did smart for a few days though.

Blimey.

And I was crying about nothing.

Need a slap and to be taken down a peg or two.

Nope, no need to feel like that. Yes, there's always someone worse off than you (and our Ross has definitely been through the wars) but that doesn't cancel out your very real and valid worries. If you lose five quid it doesn't suddenly return just because your neighbour has lost a tenner.

You're obviously feeling concerned about this particular chapter of your life or you wouldn't have started this thread. I don't have any solutions for you but you certainty shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to talk about your situation.

The only issue you have OP is this one...

You let the contract run out in November... Contracting has a dead zone of Nov-Jan, so if you are out of contract then, you can assume you won't get a new contract until Feb, minimum.

There are some exceptions, but mostly its Nov-Jan, no chance.
I agree. I've been caught out on that twice over the years, and whilst a 4 month sabbatical is all very nice if you have the funds to do it, it's squeaky bum time as the money starts to run out.
Absolutely this.

Don't contract unless you have six months salary in the bank as a safety net.

Went for my run and this happened! Telling you i am cursed!

Still smiling though, the worst part was limping around in the cold and in shorts trying to hitch a lift back home. I was 3/4 miles away from civilization and strangely no one wanted to give a man with a broken face a lift. Still cann't complain as i raced back and made sure the legs were still working.

An excuse to do nothing.

I am working a contract in my slippers due to me being an ass, http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I got to much life to live.

Up early, sent some applications in.

Dropped DS1 off and just about to get changed to drop DS2 off to school.

...get busy living.

Got 15 miles to run today, hopefully will not find any ice on the way!
