It's a good job it wasn't PWIG driving the Cossie, he would have been out and hijacked the Rover.

If a car like that was found in touched they must have been amatuer criminals.. I would have at least raced it down the M6 Toll road

Ok more bad news guys, although this car was found undamaged, a different car was stolen last night.

This one was a black RS500 cosworth taken from the pub car park at an RS owners club meet.

Here are two pictures of the car, and it is also featured in the current 'Redline' magazine managing 191mph at Bruntingthorpe proving grounds.

The reg is E421 FUR and it was taken at 9pm from Wisbech in Cambridgeshire at the Blacksmith Arms.

Apparently there was no glass on the floor and no sign of the car. It seems someone is out to steal the most recognisable cosworths they can find at the moment!

Obviously you dont want people with a thread for every car stolen in the country, but I hope you don't mind me tagging this on to the end of the current one.

Was the first one an insurance job???

You sound like a very unlucky chap all your friends seem to have their cars stolen.

I certainly hope the first incident wasn't an insurance attempt, as many people spent their own good time trying to help the guy. Plus, as far as I know the agreed valuation he has on his insurance is far lower than the time it cost him to build his engine!

As the guy from the first one does not want to talk about it I can only guess at what happened, but I think that it is more than just a co-incidence that the two fastest 3 door cosworths are both stolen within two days of eachother..

If they were normal ones I wouldnt have bothered to post on a non-Ford related site, but i'm sure you guys understand the time and effort it takes to reach the top of the tree with performance cars, and both of them are instandtly recognisable, and use almost no parts original to the car.. And the chance of obtaining the full value of the car back from the insurance!

As for trackers on insurance a cosworth, not a single company has told me this is a requirement on my own car! Although I will be seriosuly looking into this now!

P.S. The second guy is not particlarly a friend of mine, I have only met him at one or two trackdays so I hope i'm not that unlucky!

Surely if you had a car which was of such unique value to you, you'd make sure it had a tracker fitted?

Muncher that was my point i said yesterday, but this guy is platently using the forums for advertising......

Someone remove the sticky... Also Judas's friend had a evo carjacked he had a anti jacking device fitted car was recovered within 30 minutes i think.....

Even a Cheap tracking device costs only £400 for fitting and years subscription. pennies when you consider the cost and significance of the car..

"Wisbech in Cambridgeshire"

What a shit hole - probably has the highest crime rate in the Anglia region.

Why is every one so keen on making out this is an advertisment stunt. If anyone wanted to sell these cars then they wouldn't advertise the fact they were now stolen and (possibly) recovered. If he is wanted to strike up interest in Sierra RSs then just starting a normal thread would have done. So I feel these are real situations - highly modified cars are at great risk of being taken these days.

OK, I'm a bit fick, so could someone please explain the scam. You think this guy has 2 Sierra Cosworths for sale at the moment? I can't see how that would work as:

a) There is no price advertised
b) Why would anyone advertise that their car had been stolen/recovered when selling it?

Failing that, perhaps the guy runs a tuning business? Only the 1st one had a tuning site advertised and there's no mention of his name on it.

I'm lost...

DJ, this chap has his own business see first reply to the thread.... By putting the pics on his business site and hence getting more people to visit his site...

Its shocking that 2 cossies have gone missing and probably now recovered. These do not have tracking devices are just recovered through police investigations....

Had a word with my insurance broker earlier. All group 20R cars have to have a tracker fitted before there owner is able to get insurance. This only the criteria of this company and its members but they insure over 50% of the cars on UK roads

agreed...i was going to say things must have changed we were putting top of the range cobra alarms on these because insurances wouldnt cover them, it seems sad if they have no security (comment about no glass on floor either screwed lock or key)
