Evening all,

Sorry to be a pain but I have looked around the posts going back a while and cant find the reference.
I have just cleaned up the first of my trailing arms using the electrolysis method and have found that it is quite badly corroded, it seemed OKat first, but there was a very small area of corrosion which when probed fairly vigorously holed quite easily. Worrying really as it "looked" ok and was only a very small depression it then turned into a hole about an 25mm long by 6/7mm wide. I tried a test weld but it seemed like welding net curtains and am not going to take any risks.

Now I need to get a new pair of swing arms, does anyone know the best place to get some from ?
I was going to try TVR car parts but I am sure that I also read on here about another supplier but cant seem to find the reference/post.

Thanks in anticipation

Graham

You can only buy new trailing arms for the S3 or later. That means you also need the inner bush housing. More importantly, the dampers mount in a different place, so if you have adjustable height dampers you'll need to lower the body back to the right ride height.

If you don't have height adjustment, you'll need some!

You can get your trailing arms refurbished by Adrian Venn (adrian@ on here) - you'd never recognise them as the same ones you sent him!

Just who I was going to recommend but tinks beat me too it. I've not used him myself but there are tons of positive responses for his work (price and quality) particularly when its regarding trailing arm rebuilds.

Agree totally with 'Tvrgit'. Adrian repaired this to as new condition and at a very reasonable cost too.
