Video: New BMW M5 On The Move

Seeing and hearing the new M5 undisguised on camera makes us yearn for a turn behind the wheel

Here's BMW's latest promo video, this time giving us a little tease of the M5 in motion.

Sadly it is rather short, but it does at least whet our appetites for what we hope will be a spectacularly good fast saloon.

It certainly looks and sounds the part - from the briefest of brief audio glimpses of that V8 soundtrack, it seems as if the turbochargers don't muffle the V8's voice entirely.

Mercifully, the American movie trailer voiceover guy used in previous BMW videos is nowhere to be heard, either.

Judging by the amount of rubber on the track at 36 secs in, an entire grid full of cars must have shot off into the surrounding undergrowth....

True, but isn't the M/Sport button meant to turn the suspension into granite?

I guess you can only take these things so far. It's not a track car anyway.

This car is fantastic. Its like waking up and finding that the last 7 years were a dream and the E39 evolved into this without the E60 ever happening. The E60 M5 was a great car from a performance/dynamic point of view but the looks were always challenging IMO. This car is the business alright smokin

I like the 10 second "up next" video after this one! Much more exciting
Edit: Oh - it is not consistent - but I got 10 sec of M5 roar and squeal!

I love the E60 in Sport or M5 spec. I think it looks great and is even better to drive. At the prices they are now nothing comes close.

Complete weapon and will be viewed as a classic of the Super-saloon genre in about 15 years time.

See if I am wrong....
