Hi Guys

I have tried to search, this topic muust have been caned before but i could not find anything.

Firstly, whats the max width of 19" diameter rear tyre you can fit onto the standard C2? Some people are telling me 295 others say 305..

And is it possible to fit wheels from a wide body car such as the turbo or C4s with the use of spacers or such like?

Many Thanks

All the Porsche option wheels (Sport Design, Carrera Sport et al) can be fitted with 305 rubber, I've got some on mine right now. You won't be able to fit the wheels from a widebody car as the offsets are different: Well, they might fit but you really do need the ones from a narrowbody, so personally I'd just do it properly.

You could maybe use spacers to run wheels from a narrow body car on a widebody one, but not the other way around.

The widebody wheels are made to stick out further to meet the wider body, so on a narrow body car they will stick out too far.

Yep, that makes sense.

What about spacers on the C2 rear in general though.. I notice my wheels rest well inside the arch and could look much more natural (in logical aesthetic terms) if they were an inch or so stepped out. Will fitting spacers and widening the rear track have knock-on detrimental effects to other components. ? Or will just getting wider tyres solve the issue?

Subsequent installation of spacers Securing spacers and wheels

The 5-mm thick spacers are secured on the wheel hubs together with the brake discs using countersunk screws (M6 x 16), Part No. 900.269.106.09.
¨ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

The 5-mm spacer must remain on the vehicle when mounting the spare wheel.

If 5-mm spacers are used, the wheels must be secured using the 5-mm longer wheel bolts used on the 911 GT3, Part No. 996.361.203.90. These wheel bolts are marked with GT or with a red colour on the front of the bolt head (Arrow) or the rotating spherical cap is galvanised in red.
¨ Length gXh approx.: 50 mm
¨ Tightening torque: 130 Nm (96 ftlb.)

If the spacer is removed, the original wheel bolts, ¨ Length gXh approx.: 45 mm, must be used again.
