Hi,

I want to know if a 996GT3RS rear air scoop on the engine lid is available to buy from Porsche as a single unit rather than a new lid...? I fancy one for my GT3.

I have asked a local dealer and they are unsure..... does anyone have a 996GT3 cup car parts cataloge ?

They look like this :

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod2281/Rear-Spoile...

http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_996_... half way down Intake Scoop for GT3 Rear Spoiler Mk2

any help appreciated

GMG Racing make one http://gmgracing.com/porsche_aero.shtml

And Manthey http://www.jzmachtech.com/shells/tuning_product.ph...

All are basically the same thing, you need to attach through the deck lid and with 3M tape. The Design911 is carbonfibre wrap over wood, hence the (much) cheaper price than GMG or Manthey. If weight is hugely important you'll have to pay the price...

Plenty of aftermarket options available for these ram air scoops and aftermarket is really the way to go. You can just stick it to your lid. The Porsche part comes only with the decklid. There's some good deals on proper carbon ones at the minute too. As a bonus you can save painting it ...... And it will match your carbon RS rear wing wink

Ref the cup parts look up. The cup doesn't use this. It's got a totally different deck lid design altogether and the scoop is not needed. The shape also means the road car part won't fit on at all.
