Have just sorted same problem myself posted last week but got few replies on where to get motor sorted, done it my self in the end.
Take off all door trim, this was really easy none of the usual rubbish said about removal 20 mins start to finish, just take it easy, check wiring/switch and all conectors, sometimes wire gets broken through door seal to body.
Remove check motor connections, put power from bat onto on connector and earth out if not working motor dead as mine was.
Motor was a bit akward thats all, you cannot see all bolts due to window in closed position.
The motor is a Bosch part no 0130821070, used in Fiats and believe it or not most Ferrari,s, the motor is not available in Britain, tried to no avail can be sourced by Andrew Pages my local one 01642 243333 at £129.79, next day del. from Germany not a bad deal really.
Contacted Scott at Douglas Valley TVR 01257 472866 complete window motor/regulator at £104.14 inc vat/del ordered Mon 10:30 del Tues 08:30. brilliant.
Will be fitting later today.
If you are doing same let me know I will give an anoracks blow by blow on dismantle/refit.

Good Luck.

If your window is in closed position, the left side nut holding on the window stay bar cannot be accessed to hold nut, it is not captivated and will be obstructed by mechanism, just use spanner on back, I have a small ratchet and also angled ratchet spanners I found it just as easy to remove using ordinary open ended one, dont worry about loosing any nuts/spacers/washers they come out easy after mechanism is removed, just bear in mind how they fit as the winmechanism is sometimes 'washered up' to allow it to align correctly in window guide frames.

Computer crashed, sent half message.
There are 2 bolts holding on window stay as explained left is akward, right you can get 2 spanners on just ordinary open enders will do.There are also 20mm packers in as well these are for aligning the window with opening, a fiddle about later when refitting.
Remove window by gently lifting up out of runners there is a runner on right inside the door you cannot see, lift out by lifting up on this side, handle end moving upwards and towards front it should come free and out.
Next remove bolt at top of door holding in window mechanism, this is the one obstructing the window stay.
Remove bolt at bot of assembly, then next one along holding motor mine had also a tie wrap around motor holding in tight. Again washers/spacers just remember which way they go.
Ease all wiring away from motor, cut tie wraps, mark all cable/switches these inc all after removing door card etc.
Motor should now be free!! ease motor up/along into large aperture front of door, left, lift up and along keeping hold of other end, its a bit floppy to say the least, lift along,up and out.
When you get 'new' motor/regulator, remove motor 3 bolts/spacers, put square ended screw driver into opening where motor was and turn, grease and check all runners working from top to bottom, you will see 2 holes where window is fitted too, left one will now be seen leave in position to get at it, its all clear when you see it in front of you, put back motor the orientation is imaterial as the motor switch is either up or down, the end stop decides what happens you will notice a screw thread sticking out of the top of assembly this is what controls the up stop into the targa top give it a good soaking with a ptfe based easing spray and work to check they are usually rusted in.
If you ave lost any nut/spacers/washers be very careful when attempting to find them the fibre glass shards inside are deadly I speak from experiance, if any they will be in bottom of door.
You now have a reverse to refit. Get somebody to give assistence with re-fit you need 3 hands.
Just a quicky on door card, the most time is spent trying to locate the carpet screws 5 I think, post on here somewhere as to removing door card as I said mine took approx 20 min start to finish.
If need help PM for my mobile.

Good Luck.

So having replaced the motor with a new one, do the windows go up any quicker than before?

Yes,I also bought new window seals Racedirect, nothing wrong with old ones but to hell with it do the lot whilst door panels are off, used ptfe based spray on runners also the 'hidden one' inside door running up towards rubber water seal, funny tho passenger side one is a lot quicker maybe Mon blues on drivers side at TVR, I may change relay!!!!.
I wouldnt do the full monty if motor is working, just try to spray down channels it may help to improve operation, but as we know its a TVR so all could be not as it seems.
