Just got 4 new federal FZ-201 delivered after being sold them as being road legal, but I'm not to sure any more as there are written " for competition use" on the side of them?

Have anybody used them at the Ring?

Yeah, you should be fine.

If you check, they'll have an 'E' mark on them, making them road legal.

The important thing is that they don't have 'ONLY' written after' For competition use'

Thanks' found the E-mark on the back of the tyre, and they are now fitted ready for the Ring trip.

Hello,
Could you tell me what the tread wear value is on the tyre and how good you find the 201's?
Thanks

We use them on our Evo X RS - they are mega. Much faster than 888's and at present looking like they will last longer too. Used them for the Ring in July - great in the dry, good on the road, acceptable in the wet. This type of tyre is never going to be great in the wet, obviously.

Got stopped in Belgium (as usual) - Police checked the tyres, called in and they were given the OK.

I looked at these when at Oulton in July.

I would have ordered a set, but my tyres last for ages

But will be ready soon

Group buy then?

Where would you rank these in the Mich PS Cup / 888 / A048 / DZ03G..?

I must have done about 100 laps taking passengers around Castle Combe for Forge Motorsport on saturday, and the FZ201's were brilliant, consistant lap after lap, no overheating like the 888's and much better wear rate. I normaly ruin the front left tyre going around Castle combe when using 888's but I have lot's left on the 201's.
for me it's a no brainer, the FZ201's are cheaper, have better wear rate and don't overheat like the 888's. From cold the 888's have more grip, but when the 201's get some heat in to them I would say they give more grip than the 888's and they are more consistant.

I tried to get a set of these for the Noble this year but sizes were very limited , good to hear they are performing well , might be getting a set for next season . Fancy a change from the 888's .

Thought I would add mt thoughts to this thread.

Have done a day at Cadwell & another at Spa on these tyes now, in the Cerbera and imho they are better than R888's. Seem to grip really well once warm, you can really lean on them in the corners, and they don't go off at all. They also appear to be wearing really well. Slightly more exspensive than the R888, but seem like they will last a lot longer.

Where did you buy them from? Interested in 265/35/18 and 285/30/18 but cannot find a supplier which stocks them...

how is the transition from grip/slip with these? some tyres of this sort are snappy little bds when you do get to the end of their prodigious grip...

They look quite Advan A048-esque:
