The very first BBWF
Discussion
Hi peeps..I hope i dont bring back any bad or sad memories for anyone but i would like to know who started the BBWF,The organisers and where it was held please..Also how many have been held at Ettington and if its been concurrent..I would like to crack on with the BBWF mag as time waits for no man so i will be gathering info and pics very soon..Cheers..Ziga
If I remember correctly it has been held at Ettington every year bar one where is was in Blackpool. I think the Blackpool one was in 2009. I remember it well as I was due to set off and the 450 wouldn't start. Wasn't the cars fault it was mine for tinkering and not putting the connector to the ignition module on correctly .... by the time I'd diagnosed the problem it wasn't worth setting off .....damn!!

I think this is the one I gatecrashed with my V8 ambulance to provide tea's and coffees and my 400 Wedge expired very loudly on run out with a knackered piston
That was the second one Paul: 2005.Organised by a few people incl Alan (Rev), Stainless ?

Details of 2004 and 2005 are on TVRWedgepages!
The first one was the year where, en route home via the then g/f's place I reversed my car into a forecourt bin in Leicester, smashing the rear bumper, lights and crunching the wing...

I must get around to finishing off the repairs...2004 was the first The main organiser was indeed Reverand but let's not forget our old Muckas Neil and Karen Hyde did equally as much
Neil used to own Cuneus 420 SEAC (no.2)
Mikebs report is still up on the TVRCC site.........

Cheers dicky..Its amazing how 7 years later there still is that last minute panic to get everything done on the car..
Ettington is certainly a good venue and i really enjoyed my first one there and hopefully many more will follow..It seems judging by the comments of some of the staff that i asked what they felt about the event that it has passed without incident and is always welcomed back..Is there anyone who has every colour shirt and every design of mug that has been produced..Come on you veterans own up..I was intending on giving a brief run down on how it all came about in the BBWF mag that i intend doing but maybe some simple pointers will suffice..It would be nice to get a pic of each of the mugs and shirts just for prosperity..Dont forget this is not for any commercial value only for the benefit of those who remember it and the future wedge community to look back on..Cheers for the input guys..Ziga

The event actually started with a thread where we were just trying to organise a central wedge gathering .. initial ideas of a pub car park etc but in the end with the amount of people wanting to attend and with people coming from so far and needing to stay over the focus switched to hotels with large car parks. Karen Hyde suggested Ettington Chase for its central location and because she had used it for business and when approached they were more than happy to have us. I believe the first couple of years saw attendances of around 120 wedges and this large attendance was one of the reasons why the Wedge fest and Griff growl could not share the same event.
Steve Heath did tankards for us one year.............

Still available I believe...............

Now is my memory playing tricks on me ?
I remeber Big Bad Wedge Feast in a hotel in Wales with some very nice Welsh ladies that the BBWF organisers went to, But I'm sure we also did another one for the organisers at a medievil event somewhere with a pricey room that was also tremendous fun ?

That was Christmas 2007 at Ruthin Castle in Wales - was just a Xmas bash not a definative Wedge Feast (particularly in light of the fact I was the only one who drove there in a wedge!).I remeber Big Bad Wedge Feast in a hotel in Wales with some very nice Welsh ladies that the BBWF organisers went to, But I'm sure we also did another one for the organisers at a medievil event somewhere with a pricey room that was also tremendous fun ?
