I think the Norweigans might have a dead polar bear you can have for free? They're pretty massive.

Harrods? Although if you've balked at Hamleys pices this may not be an option.

Does the English Teddy Bear Company still exist?

Edit- no it doesn't and not for a while. It was owned by Hamleys ironically.

Just don't. There is no situation in which a huge teddy bear is the right present.

How about a better quality bear that she can actually hold in bed?

Toys-r-us, argos, Ikea are my suggestions. My mother ordered a
"large" teddy bear on line from argos as a gift for two children, when it arrived it was twice the
size she intended. The children loved it (they could both sit on it). She later heard
from the parents that the children started to argue over whose the bear was
so the parents decided to buy a second one and now care barely move around the house.

I'd go with the above suggestion and go for something the OH can actually cuddle in bed. I
have a couple of enormous bears and they take up nearly as much room in bed as the present Mr Antonia
so I am banned from bringing them to bed which is sad for the bears.

You can get some amazing limited edition bears or a personalised build-a-bear if you want to go for
something showy.

Hope all goes well with the OH.
