Porsche Rennsport Reunion - Video

Wish you were here? Posing for the Porsche family photo

Laguna Seca is a great place to be on an ordinary weekend - and last weekend was anything but ordinary, as the Rennsport Reunion IV descended on the historic race track.

The event was billed as bringing together an unprecedented gathering of significant Porsche vintage and current race cars, as well the people who have driven them to victory in the world's most famous sports car races. Judging by this video, it delivered!

Cars assembled included a wide variety of Porsche's most historic racing models from the 550 Spyder of the mid-Fifties, through the mighty 917 and 956/962 of the Seventies and Eighties, to the highly successful GT3 RSR of the last decade.

Seen anything you like yet..?

Wow, must have been difficult to get all those Porsches in the same place at the same time. They should have shown a few more moving shots of the Porsches going round the circuit at the end, all mixed together!

Needs more engine noise biggrin

But yeah, very impressive and some brilliant examples of Porsche's historic moments in motorsport. Every time I see a 917 though, I end up wanting to put the Le Mans DVD on laugh

That is brill.

It makes me think - Porsche have such an incredible heritage. I think perhaps people in the UK, maybe more so than in the states, don't really think about this?

I wonder how many Porsche owners are not really aware of what Porsche is really about?

Theres some wonderful cars in that shot. If you stick 'rennsport reunion' into Google or flickr there's thousands more photos of some incredible race cars from their past.

I've become so used to seeing the 911, 911 Boxster, 911 Cayenne, 911 Cayman, 911 Panamera that I'd forgotten that Porsche have produced some truly beautiful cars in the past. Why oh why can't Porsche start designing truly beautiful cars again?
