The Rennsport Reunion IV provides another tasty treat
It's rare to see a Porsche 962 at speed, but you could have seen just that at Laguna Seca the other weekend when Mark Hotchkiss gave a veteran of Le Mans, Daytona and Sebring a run out at the Rennsport Reunion.
And now you can see it again right here on PistonHeads, thanks to YouTube and the full complement of in- and on-car cams rigged up to record the spectacle. Monday mornings don't get a lot better than this!
Good to see them 'giving it some'. having read the reports etc. on here, I thought it was parade laps... glad to see it wasn't. How nice looking was that Gulf coloured 911
Quite shocking to see how a 25-30 year old race car makes modern GT2 RS (Race edidtions) look like they are missing a few gears/turbo's.....the difference in pace on the track is staggering!
Fabulous video! Astonishing speed compared with the modern prototypes.

There was a terrific race at the Spa 6 Hours last month, the Trans-Atlantic Prototype Challenge, that pitched Group C, Can Am and GT1 cars against one another in the same race - kind of like the ultimate pub argument settler. The longtail '97 Mclaren F1 won in the end but not before all of us had seen it dropped by 40 year old Mclaren M8s on the straights. Awesome spectacle.

Brilliant footage. 1080P is amazing. I was there for the Reunion (I live in the CA Bay Area and it's a 90 mile drive or so). So many amazing nods to history that it was a bit overwhelming. Even the parking lots were a bit of a hoot (below). But thanks for the Monday morning wakeup call.
Brilliant! Saw the 1987 LeMans winning 962 recently at the Lonford Revival (Tassies answer to the Goodwood Revival - in it's first year and a long way to go yet....), Porsche bought out the rolling museum. These cars are unbelievable in the flesh. Good to see he was not hanging around either!
