Indigo Blue GTO 3 I think at the top of the Fleet Bends heading for Yateley. Anyone here???

Sorry, I would have honked but I find the horn to shameful

I have been cut up three times this week, but still can't bring myself to sound like Noddy!

Can someone remind me of the upgrade that was posted a while ago.

I totally agree and an also highly embarassed to use the supplied horn - the factory also agrees (but hasn't offered a fix!) :-)

OK so call me lazy, but has anyone got any idea what to buy and how to fit it. The Nautilus looks like a good idea!

I'm assuming it simply bolts in place of the other thing they jokingly call a horn.

PM A.C.G. he's upgraded the horn. Think it was fairly trivial and now sounds like a large cargo ship!

I've got the Nautilus as well as Mr Glover - it makes it sounds like a "real" car.

Fitting is dead easy and straight forward 1:1 replacement - just unbolt the old one, move the bracket into the right position, and bolt the new one in.

Wiring is already sufficient so you just connect the old wires to the new horn.

I feel that we'll be heading in this direction in the not-to-distant future too.

From the World Wide Web: The Nautilus TWIN TONE Air horns features compact space saving engineering that no other twin tone air horn in the world can offer. It's very fast and easy to install because it requires only ONE fixing point and a single electrical connection. No air tubes are required.

Yep, also checked and Motor World (www.motor-world.co. uk) is the cheapest at £22.99 - they do mail order or have high street stores...

Thanks for that, I have made a purchase.

I look forward testing them on the next person pulling out in front of me......always assuming I get the thing back together again of course!

OK - here is a simple guide

Take the original horn off it's mount (spanner on both ends of the bolt & nut) and disconnect the wires. Attach the new horn (note the "grounding" wire).

Drill out the holes on the bracket to fit the slightly larger bolt that comes with the airhorn.

Attach the ground wire back onto the original bolt and tighten up (not fully).

Attach the mounting bracket that comes with the horn to the other end - as shown.

Slide on the new AirHorn to the mount and tighten.

When tested - angle the horn downwards to stop water ingress.

That's it.

Note: If you are unlucky you may need to "extend" some of the wires if you can't make it all fit - but you should generally be OK.

Hope that helps!

Cars are for driving, not purring over

And now for something completely different.....Joust probably knows the answer to this.

I have a really annoying rattle coming from the back of the car. It sounds remarkably like a loose exhaust bracket to me.

Before I have a rummage, anyone know where best to start looking, exhaust obviously, but anywhere else???

Mine did the same. Turned out to be the alignment/mounting of the clamshell.

Also check the clearance of the exhuast tailpipes as they exit the rear of the car. They are very easy to adjust by slacking off the tailpipe bolts, moving the tailpipe, then tighten the bolts back up.

You could well be right, my exhaust bracket had sheared and was causing a nasty rattle. Soon sorted by Vegantune with a spot of welding...
