How much for a 590 Hp Ruf R Turbo?
Discussion
Total UK cost is about £180k for a narrow-body, 590bhp RTurbo, assuming it has an Integrated Roll-Cage.
Of course there are so many options and variations it's difficult to be specific.
The engine upgrade for 590bhp for a GT2/Turbo is 50,000 euros plus VAT ie £38k alone.
If you win the lottery let me know, I have the full Ruf price-list at home somewhere.

Guy,
Number 1 seems expensive to me. At Vmax I had a ride in charle360's 996 Turbo. It is a non-X50. He has had a new exhaust, race cats (1000 cell or whatever) and a re-map. He says the car has about 510 BHP. He says it cost only around 4 grand. That is a lot less than Ruf, even though it does invalidate the warranty. I take it that Ruf do more work than charlie360's car had? For example intake manifolds?
I don't know exactly what they do for that.
Ruf themselves admit they are more expensive than other tuners, but the advantages are that they offer a quality well-known name for re-sale, proven packages and also a 2 yr warranty on engine/gearbox. (They have 55 employees so are a decent size company).
I am told that all their bhp numbers are conservative as well. They told me that their quoted bhp numbers are what the worst car, on the worst day, made on their engine dyno.
I took the view that on an expensive car like my GT2 I'd rather pay a bit extra for the certainty and backup you get with Ruf. If I had an older car (early 996TT or 993TT) that was out of warranty anyway, I would have considered a UK-based tuner, as many others do.
