was thinking about gen 1 boxster/cayman s with x51 engines which has been done and also been done by an opc.as the gen 2 cars are not easy to tune for more power what if you put a gts/x51 3.8 in a spyder or cayman R what a car you would have 400 bhp 1275 kg. but is it going to go in and what else would need changing if anything?
so you buy a £30k spyder add new engine fitted for £15k less £5k for old engine =£40k for a giant slayer!!

I know of two 986 that have hat GT2 engines fitted - they don't tend to hold together too well for some reason

Wow, that would be amazing. Please add updates on whether you are going to do this.

I was told the GT3 engine will fit and the Boxster/Cayman can easily take it, but unsure how accurate that would be, and suspect it would cost a huuuuge amount.

Of course 911 engines rotate in the opposite direction too.

Opposite direction to Cayman/Boxter engines? Surely they just swap the differential to drive the other way?

I did hear that the GT3/Gen1 Turbo engines spin the other way though, hence why they can't mate to a PDK box...

Oddly no pictures of the engine (you'd think that would be an important picture to take) and that exhaust is well off centre haha

labour cost would hurt + insurance + limited resale value..............

The differential orientation is different that's all, Porsche engines all turn clockwise - (some/all?) Honda engines turn anticlockwise..........

Has Amari sold that cayman with the carrera 3.8S engine yet? According to their sales spiel it cost the orig owner 40 grand or something? (punch of salt perhaps?)
