My second car and I hate to say it, but was a bit of a dog! Rotted outriggers (in 1987 - it was only 7 years old!!). Stranded me twice by snapping the pivot pin on the lower wishbone offside both times. gear lever came off in my hand as I went into third - typical TVR relocating the gear lever by a steel plate to move the stick forward a couple of inches!

The nearside head cracked across the valve seats - probably to do with the very grubby spark plug that was fixed fast and sheared off needing a helicoil afterwards. Then there was the little matter of the powdered rear wheel bearing and not forgeting the rotting door window frames. Cost me £4k in '87 and I took a white Golf Gti in part ex a year and about £1.5k later. And yet...and yet it still has a special place in my heart - such an outlandish machine and so rare even then - always felt special going out in it.

So 25 years on are you still alive my old silver Tasmin?

Blimey! I'm slightly amazed it made it that far - so it looks like it may still be alive. Bet it's not still got the chocolate teddy bear carpet in it I fitted!! (or indeed the stunning Matsui Radio Cassette)
