Hi, has anyone asked an OPC to install clear film at collection?

Did they agree to do it and what was the cost? Thanks

I have had two 911s filmed, one in Paintshield, one in Ventureshield.

There are differences in the film, and the expertise of the fitter is critical.

YHM.
Spot on - indeed, my car us currently running both !

Curious; isn't that like putting seat covers on to keep them nice for the next owner; buying an iPad and covering all it's beauty in a drab cover etc, etc?

Front end is a must IMHO - if done properly, is invisible.

Had min removed off my white 7.1RS as you could see where the cuts were. My car is driven: the cuts do show more in the dirt!

Note: if it helps mine was Paintshield

The film should be pre-cut.

That was a paintshield install, I told the owner at the time not to do it!!

You need an install that wraps around the edges of each panel, mine is PS too & the muck that gets stuck on the leading edges is terrible, it does a job but thats as far as it goes

Exactly right - ensure all leading edges are wrapped... I explicitly asked for this on my PS and it wasn't done, and now also have crap getting stuck at the ends, doors especially.

looks like venture shield is the recommended product. the question is whether they can provide the service at the dealer or do I have to risk driving there on collection to get it done....?

Out of interest how do you get on with cleaning, polishing etc once you have it installed? Not knocking it as I can understand the reasons for wanting it done.

When I had mine done, I used very low adhesive tape to cover the more likely areas that stone chips affect and drove it up to the installer. Always best to get it done at the installers premises imo - they have all the tools, can better control the environment (dust etc) and, are more likely to take their time on the job and do it right.
