Yep, surprised there wasn't a thread here before.
The pictures only seem to work in IE. Probably blocked as Firefox allows blocking of the fekking annoying adverts and a lot of there revenue stream.

(Bit like here, viewing without adblock is tiresome).

Still occurring. Only with Firefox as stated.

Does work with Chrome, even with adblock installed.

It's beginning to get annoying.

From my personal experience I Found it was used predominantly by a vast quantity of eastern "europeans" who are always selling cars for their cousin/brother/uncle, whilst working at the local hand car wash.

...not to mention cars advertised at one low price (to get to the top of the listing) but with the "real" price in the body of the ad it's self - effectively making the search by price feature annoying/redundant.

It doesn't seem all that long ago when I used to wait eagerly for the weekly Autotrader mag, every Thursday (actually found a newsagents who'd sell it to us on a Wednesday night beforehand!).... Also remember the Autotrader rep coming to take pictures of the car to put in the advert (before digital cameras!).

...but now think it's a waste of time

It used to be far better before they 'improved' it a few years back.
Now I find the mobile versions far better!

If only they could introduce some better search/filter/sort options.

Like "sort by 0-60" and "only show cars with top speeds over 150" (and the more realistic "only show cars over 15mpg" biggrin) wink

The fruit based product versions of Autotrader work very, very well and I like using them for idle searching. The desktop version is slow, unresponsive and constantly falls over.

Still st in other words.

I had issues with it using Chrome on OSX a few days ago but it all seems fine now.

Agreed that they ruined it with the "update" a couple of years ago.

When they redesigned their website I hated it but I find it very good now.

Could be quicker but Its growing on me. I mainly use it on IE or Chrome.

My only complaint is with the app. On the main website when you click a drop down it gives you the available search results in brackets as a number and I hope they add this to the mobile app via an update.

I hate the way adverts appear half down the search results after a few seconds, making the page jump around.

Also I have no idea why you can't search on CO2 emissions. Every car has them listed, so surely it can't be difficult to setup a search for it.

Fail to see why people still use AT.
They shot themselves in the foot with the new website, and as far as I can tell, it's never really worked properly from day one.
Cars with 112 miles on 'em, correct prices hidden in the adverts, stupid dumb-ass premium ads that list a car 178 miles away at the top of the 'nearest cars to me' page, last time I used it I couldn't even get my damn postcode into it.
Useless.
PH/Ebay/CarandClassic/Post office window all do a better job now.
