I thought I'd treat myself to a pair of weightlifting shoes.
I've not been able to find a tremendous range but so far it's between Adidas and Do-Win.

I've just ordered a pair of the Adidas ones, should be here in the next few days. The frustrating thing is there are very few (none) places that sell them from their shop, so I've had to buy them online without trying them on.
I went for adidas simply because they look more like a normal shoe, they look good and they're the ones I see people wearing most often. TBF, probably not the best reasons but I'm sure they will be good!

First workout with the new adidas shoes today. They fit really well - I'm an 8 trainer, and a 7 shoe. 8 trainers are usually on the big side, i.e. I have to do them up tight but these are a tad smaller so fit really well so I'd bare that in mind.
No squatting today, but did olympic lift. The difference isn't dramatic compared to running shoes but you just feel that bit more steady and planted. The real test will be squats I'd imagine, so I'll update in a few workouts time.

Yes, it is noticable. I found my heels clipping the floor a bit when I first put them on and when I was walking around. After 20 mins though they just felt normal. You really notice their rigidity going back to running shoes after too.

I don't like this. My primary question is does anyone know anywhere in the North-West that sells them? I also take a different size in my trainer to my shoe/boot.Pretty sure something like Consumer Protection Act / Distance Selling comes into this or anything bought online / unseen.
So long as you don't mind shelling out for 1. original price and 2. carriage, you have the right to return for full credit any product regardless of fault or not if they don't fit or meet expectations. Or something like that.
It's not the same as going to a shop and trying them on, but there is protection if products are unsuitable. Probably.

I've been debating getting the Adidas Power Perfect too. I've been told to order 1 size lareger than my trainer size as the are tight fitting. Is this right? Also my squat technique is a cross below high and low bar. I squat below parallel but not ATG and my upper torso has a fair bit of lean forward (not a rounded back though). I wonder if better off in something like Converse All Stars, Addidas Samba trainers or similar. I also have wide feet.

... but one size larger makes 'em size 12, which is comedy size.
I think I'll be ordering size 11s and crossing my fingers. Still can't decide which to go for though - I can't get the Adidas brand image out of my mind and paying a wedge for that, rather than a good shoe. They'll only be used a couple of times a week for maybe an hour so image really isn't important - they're to do a job.

I read one reveiw somewhere of the Do-Wins where someone mentioned that the heels werent 100% identical size on the pair. I think the reveiw was on Amazon. Not sure if this is the case but it would play on my mind. I think I'll be ordering size 11s and crossing my fingers. Not too sure how important that is TBH. I'm pretty sure very few people have legs of equal length or feet precisely the same size. If it's 5mm put then maybe, but 1 or 2mm I don't think it's anything to worry about.
