Renaultsport Clio 200 Silverstone GP
Discussion
Picked this up just before Christmas, following on from my Renaultsport Twingo (See here) - hadn't actually intended to get another Renault and was looking at and test driving all sorts trying to decide - but after every search I ended up back at the Clio, I then stumbled across some information on the Silverstone Edition and decided to look a bit further into it... fatal mistake!
There are 50 Silverstone editions in total, this car is lucky number 13.
Aside from the contender for the longest name given to a car, the Silverstone GP edition Clio is essentially a Clio 200 with extra kit, different paint and some badges. Kit list includes:
- Recaro Seats (Standout feature of the car for me)
- Cup Chassis
- Automatic Climate Control
- Bluetooth
- Satin Black Speedline Alloys
- Renaultsport Monitor (Monitors lap times, g-readings, 0-62 & 1/4 Mile times amongst other things)
- Cruise control with speed limiter
- Renault 'ID' Paint
How does it compare to the Twingo? Well, 'more' to summarise - the family DNA is definitely there, but the Clio is a much more refined and comfortable place to be, the engine is less anaemic low down and it feels much more solid both in build and the drive itself. The exhaust note is brilliant for a standard system to boot!
Anyway, pictures...

Did you get a FREE Silverstone Track-Day that Renault are meant to throw in as part of the deal?
Enjoy!
Yes I did, though not yet been on it - a number of laps around Silverstone in a Clio 200 followed by the same again in a Megane 250. Can't wait! Though have a horrible feeling it will lead to me wanting a Megane 250 to complete the trio Enjoy!
