For it is written though shalt not touch the key that is silver or there will be great trouble. But I was weak and I did touch the key that is silver and its switch for I thought it to be too wobbly. And lo, today there was a great silence, and the fuel pump was silent and neither the light of MIL nor any other lights did appear. And I checked the fuse that is big and all the multitude smaller fuses but still there was silence. Then I gazed upon the key that is silver and were it is written that there shall be two wires there was but only one. And I did kick myself mightily and then toil with my iron of solder until the switch was cast out and a new silvery key was thrust within. And then there was a great shout and a great rumbling and the Cerbera didst roar once again. Here endeth the lesson.

You do know don't you that the very first post ever ever ever written on PH was "do not touch the silver key thing" .. the second was "have you tried cleaning the stepper motor"? (RV8 owners will get that one ..)

Excellent post! There's just something so tempting about that bloody key... hehe

PS - The style of your writing suggests you read the DI Blundell articles over on Sniff Petrol.

On the upside at least you did this whilst at home and were able to repair it rather than the dry joint breaking over a bump whilst miles from home!
