All,

Whilst the Dash is getting its make over, I want to change my instrument lights from the bulb type to LED.

I have searched through the forum, but unfortunately the posts are old enough to make the links (EBay and UltraLEDS) useless.

Can someone point me to the bulbs they bought off ebay that worked for them please (that fitted and enuff light)?

I have a 93 model and all the bulbs are the same size - are BA9 bayonet jobbies, with the clock one being a lot smaller and thinner...

Thanks in advance
Nosh.

Cheers for the response - I still would like to hear OPs that have changed these bulbs and what they used.....

OK, an update....and just in case peeps are considering LED replacements for the gauge bulbs and want to know which ones NOT to get...

None of these 3 are any good....

A - it doesn't fit in the hole and is too long nono

B - fits, but bulb is too long nono

C - fits but not enuff light! nono

So, ordered one of THESE and will let you know how I get on....

PS - Tacho and Speedo gauge lights do not work = absolutley flummoxed as to why not.... banghead

Do the lampholders have two spade connectors? Unless you've already tried it, try swapping them round: the LEDs will only work if connected the right way.

They no longer work with the 'normal' bulbs!

Excellent - another guinea pig! biggrin

I think the one I have ordered will be the one - you need more that 1 LED, and the bulb is short, and looks like it will fit into the back of the gaige.

Keep us posted!

Evening all - here is an update and a revised plea....

So, these come today (from linky above)....

Fit good, and the light is excellent biggrin

Here....take a look your self....

This white or blue looks favourite....shame they do not do amber.... frown

And SO (!) back onto the 'plea' confusedcensored

Nu bulbs working in the tacho or speedo banghead - and as the red arrow shows in the pic (and yes, it looks a mess but will soon look lush), the gauge bulbs have a RED and BLACK wire, whereas the tacho and speedo (blue arrow) only has a RED wire going to the bulb holder....no lights on the big dials....any ideas????? headache

Thanks in advance...

Nosh.

Have you tried swapping the bulbs in the bottom dash to the right of the stereo?I have not seen anything like it ,looks like something from the arc, surely TVR could of dome something better than that.

One of the bulbs as gone for the headlight but i don`t have the heart to swap it..

You need tweezers or something ..it`s ridiculousfurious

if it only has power wire ,the casings on the gauges have to be earthed possibly ? (is it because the gauges are out the steel dash ?)

Your theory is sound - but the dash wasn't / isn't earthed, so thats ruled out....I think....

No Daz - you have to replace the whole 'lens' assembly - you can't just replace those bulbs.

PM me with the one you need, and I will post it off - I have red ones spare....

Which light is it for?

The bottom 3 buttons (L to R from radio) are for fog (yellow), High beam (Blue) and lights on (green)

I think its low beam lights on , can`t tell at the moment due to the battery disconnected
and the car in bits.
