Pic of the Week: Classic & Sports Car's 30th
To celebrate three decades of C&SC we're sharing some shots of cars of '82
So to celebrate they've created their biggest-ever issue, which is so large you can either buy it and use it as a blunt instrument (not to be recommended), or spend plenty of time reading and enjoying it (far more advisable).
Among the features within is an article comparing and contrasting the cars that were new in 1982, whence these pics come. Now, of course, these cars make suitable subjects of study for a classic car magazine. But we also reckon there's plenty to suit PH tastes, so please enjoy the wallpaper-based modern classic loveliness.
And because we were too late to send a card (even via Moonpig) on this, the occasion of their big three-zero, let's make up for it. Altogether now:
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Classic-&-and-Sports-Car, happy birthday to you...."

My wife's over the moon we've got a bit of extra 'insulation' in our loft now and I keep popping up to bring down another bundle of old magazines.
There'd be a Ferrari F149 California (IMO - the 308 was always the 'accessible' Ferrari-for-the-people, which seems to be more what the California's about. I know the 458 Italia is a middie V8 but its displacement and demeanour are more Testarossa in my eyes), a Lotus Evora S, a Porsche 991, perhaps an Audi A1 Quattro (I'm not sure the A5 is anything like the urquattro in spirit), a Jaguar XK, a BMW M5 twin-turbo, a Bentley Mulsanne and the most hardcore of the RenaultSport Megane Coupes.
In place of the DeLorean, it'd have to be something British, using components and expertise taken from all over the place. Although its an infinitely superior car in every way and its equivalent back in 1982 would have been too, I'll plump for the Noble M600. I mean, both had engines used in Volvos!
