Can't for the life of me find it again, but i read somewhere a while back on internet something about a gearbox re-map for the C63? I'm not interested in anyone touching the engine (2011 Performance Pack Plus), but would be interested to hear of this gearbox software map/tune.

Does anyone know anything about it? Or am i getting confused wobble

Are you finding the current map a bit 'Plain Jane'?

Up-shift not too bad when pressing on. Down-shift too slow. Trying to get the box to drop cogs (like for example 3rd to 2nd, or 2nd to 1st) i feel like i have to tell it 2/3 times, when i know full well the car would of kicked down in Sports auto mode. Maybe i'm expecting too much and this is just one of the characters of the C63. Still love the car though smile

Ive found the same thing. Its fine when you want to get a shift on in auto, but i like to use the paddles. Its like its asks 'are you sure you want to downshift?, pull paddle again to confirm'!! This is why im struggling to justify it coming from the M5 which has a really positive feel when shifting. I guess thats the difference between autos and manuals.

Have you tried holding the down paddle when in D & sport When braking? it flys down the box!! Only one long hold is needed!! Especially if your on a track or driving on the road. It's always worked for me! It will make sure your coming down the gears quick enough, but will be in the right gear to get out the corner or round the roundabout quickly!!
The remap you are possibly thinking about, is the CLK Black remap? this is a slower gear change to what is in the C63! I would leave it the way it is or buy the new face lift C63 with the new box in it! This is much quicker threw the gears.
Hope this helps?

Cheers Mark re the heads up on the Black Series re-map. I think this is the gearbox mod i was thinking of, but if it isn't going to improve on what i already have, then...

I did find *holding* the down paddle in manual mode moved down the gears quicker than repeatably pulling it, but still it sometimes refuses to go as far down the gears as i want, if that makes sense? For example, coming to a junction it will shoot down the gears (blipping in 3 and 2 which is a nice bonus smile) all the way to 1, but then it might automatically jump back upto 2, although i am at a speed that will/should easily accept 1st! It's early days with the 63, so maybe i'm just not quite used to it's mannerisms fully.

Off topic slightly, but it's so much crying out for better, and maybe wider (265/275) rubber on the rear than the 255 Conti 3's!

Khooni?

Yup, deffo noticed a difference in 'grip' through the twisties. I've had to put a 'post-it' note on the steering wheel to remind me it's NOT a Porsche biggrin
