I'm going to buy a Ribble but want to check the size without going to Preston if at all possible.

Specialized sizing by Sigma sports say I'm a 56 and when I phoned Ribble the other day the guy I spoke to agreed, although they call it a "large"

Phones back yesterday to check something else and this guy said I'd be a medium which is a 52

Ribble's own frame sizing guide puts me at 54.4cm so a 52 frame.

So I'd really like to try one out. Does anyone have. 52cm or a 56cm Ribble in London?

Thanks

How tall are you and what is your inside leg? World of difference between 52cm and 56cm, particularly in top tube size.

My Scott is a 56cm & a large. The advice I was given was to go down a frame size for a Ribble. I had a Winter/Audax bikes a few years ago & I ordered a 54cm.

Hope this helps.

In old money 6' and 33 1/2 inside leg (so all in proportion including your upper body). A 52cm will (usually) be too small unless it has very odd geometry. A 56cm will be almost bang on. You are almost exactly the same height and proportions as me and I have always ridden a 55/56cm frame.

ETA looking at the Ribble geometry page you could be a 52cm in some of their frames. The key number is the top tube length, and I would think you would want a 55-56cm effective top tube to be comfortable given you height and proportions.

I'm 6'4" and ride a 60 if that helps - usually a 36" leg length.

Mines a Sportive New or something and I absolutely love it!

It really depends which particular frame you're buying.

I'm 187cm with an 85cm inseam and ride a 56cm Gran Fondo. Since this pic I've lowered the saddle 8mm and dropped the stem by 20mm.

I went to Ribble at a quiet time (mid weekday morning or afternoon) and we used the bike fit jig to ascertain my preferred size.

Its all down to inconsistencies in measuring isn't it.

Ribble 52 cm is crank to seat post
Specialized 56cm is horizontal headset to seat post.

It turns out they're both very similar in size and geometry.

Now all I need to do is decide what crank length, cog sizes etc etc etc
