Guys,

The gate to stop you accidentally engaging reverse on my precat with LT77 box can't be felt at all and the reverse lights have a life of their own apparently - so I thought I'd look at it while the exhaust is off.

Fine tuning the reverse lights looks easy, you just adjust the lock nut on the reverse light switch to move the switch up/down, but I can't for the life of me figure out to adjust the reverse gate.

From memory from when I sorted out the gear lever bush, the plate with the hole in it has an indentation which the end of the gear lever slides up when reverse is selected. This presses the plate down and activates the switch.

Can someone tell me how to adjust the nuts and bolts in the pic below to make the gate more firm/positive.

oh, I can just about make out the other bolt with a spring on it. So I know there are a pair.

Thanks
IanB

Ian cannot see your picture however there are two bolts that have springs over them these adjust the reverse lock out plate which contacts the bottom of the gear lever set up to stop lever overshooting reverse gear position

Thanks very much for the info Carsy. I followed the instructions you pointed me to and although they initially took some translating I've got a reverse gate again.

I also found the reverse light switch was shot, so I replaced that too - hence the delay in feedback while I waited for the part

Thanks again.
