Can a Tilton triple plate clutch conversion be made to fit an old style SBC with a G93 gearbox?

Actuator/ slave cylinder wise not sure... but frequently on the forum owners quote new clutches and flywheel assemblies in conversions SBC/LS, when its only the correct flywheel position thats needed. Minor machining or shimming of existing flywheels can all be done or a correct new flywheel supplied at reasonable cost to bolt straight up to your existing other gear.
There is a getreg/LS combo that does get expensive due starter issues .... the flywheel being a monster machining job with an internal ring gear.
The tilton must have been developed to replace a stock clutch pack without too much hassle and machining ?

Talking to CMS about it at the mo. It seems like it may be a sledgehammer to crack a nut but I have 600lb/ft and want a clutch that lasts and can be used on the street without too much drama.
I wasn't worried about the actuator part of it more the adapter plate. I am sure one can be made. I am trying to find out if it is already done by anybody. LS engines no problem but this crazy World products engine that I have not yet ordered may be a different thing.

Run it by Kennedy Engineering Mark.... they are likley to have the dimensions and a solution to hand. Once you establish contact with them they are very helpful. Poor CMS has had a bashing recently with diff set-up issues but again they are very helpful with tech info.

On this issue though I'd favour Kennedy.

G luck.

Mark,

You may wish to talk to Bruce Chambers at Competition Supplies Ltd. based at Silverstone, who is the distributor for Tilton. +44 (1327) 857 991, bruce@competitionsupplies.com, http://www.competitionsupplies.com

He was VERY helpful sorting out clutch and release bearing assembies questions I had. Though it's always good to get a few opinions and see which way to go.

For things like flywheels and starters speak to Nick Beere at Ark Racing Ltd as he can design and manfacture anything you need if you require something customized. +44 1902 602881, ark_racing@btconnect.com, http://www.arkracing.com/.

One word of warning, it's VERY critical to have the correct alginement, spacing and clearance of all components in the driveline. Get any one of them wrong and you're into big bills.

Yep, I did the same about 10 years ago (with a G50/50 box) Silverstone guys will sort you out. You wont have all that lever problem with the standard clutch. Think twin plate would be better though, more managable on the road. 3 plate WONT slip.
