I'm no stranger to engine swaps but this is just stupid!

Ahhh!! This is a tricky one, as a life time Streetrodder, which accounts for my tag on here I have to say I like it, but also as a massive fan of classic Ferrari's I have to say I'm not sure.

If the only the body was available with no matching chassis, engine or running gear then in theory I have no problem with it. But if they have thrown away these parts to build this car then I would reluctantly have to say no

Ah yes - done a bit more goggling and yep seem he just had the tub.

I'd have left off the stupid faux SC inlet! And put a monster spec 302 based lump in there (500+ ponies or not bother).

Maybe a complete Vette chassis would have worked better - not the solid 9" rear end! Though obviously that is kind of what the Fezza had.

Just looks wrongs...

But then again I dont like the idea of the Iso Griffo or Bizzarini's having Vette engines, yet I love Corvettes, but dont like the two mixing...

Makes no sense I know...

I like it

If it was just a shell (prob a car rebodied to look like a GTO?) then why not? Better than weighing it in!

its a pointless alteration.
this car is all about beauty and grace and now it looks like its had a facelift which went badly wrong... as those above have stated, there are bigger more powerful engines that could have been rammed in the front, I just dont see the point of thise except to be a bit outrageous

They could have put Quad webbers on it with short trumpets to get the hood height right down a small hood scoop to cover them (not see through), then it would look fairly period.

But these Yank Hotrodders have mostly had the Taste by-pass op!

What a great way to use a gutted GTE body (the cheap bit, after the running gear and interior were removed) smile
There was a guy in Manchester (he posted on here) who planned to do something similar, but with a repro Ferrari chassis and alternative Ferrari running gear

I think it is a good idea if you get a used body and do not have the expensive running gear.

I assume much cheaper to run than the original things. Quirky enough car.

If you were to dismantle on purpose an original Ferrari to achieve this, then it would be blasphemy.

The car was gutted to make a replica of a competition car, the body on its own, is only worth a couple of thousand pounds at most, there have been a few cases where the empty shells were simply collected by the scrap man frown

Kindest thing I can say about this is that the final paint color looks lovely IMO.

i think it is great... there is room in this world for different things.... it's far better than just another fully-restored classic ferrari sitting in a humidity-controlled bubble as an 'investment' for some rich lawyer or doctor.
