Hello,
after the crash my SE is repaired now.The Esprit looks like before!
Now the next problem is waiting for me.
The AC compressor makes noises and couldn't cool the inside of the car down.
I need a new one.My system is filled with R12.
I want to change to R134A.Which parts do i need??
THX

Hi,
Because R-134A does not cool as efficiently as R-12, it's best to replace the compressor when converting to one which is designed specifically for R-134A. This can be a compressor from a later model Esprit ('94> or a compatible one from a wrecker, It's a delco system so there are most likely a couple which will fit. Also, it's best to replace the receiver/dryer to insure that all residual R-12 comp oil is removed from the system. In the same vane, put the system on a vacuum and evacuate for 24 hours (preferred) to boil off any remaining refrigerant/oil in the system. Since the 'O' rings are microscopically porous, these should all be replaced as well to insure system integrity as well as removing any vestige of the old chemistry. Happy Motoring! ...Jim'85TE
