So i just received a nice letter of the Warwichshire police. Looks like 3 points will be given for doing only 52mph on the motorway! The variable speed limits were displaying 40 and numpty here had'nt slowe quite enough through the first gantry Worse part is i wasnt in the TVR. Was in a crappy little Mazda 323. Please feel free to PM me any advice on this as i have 3 points already.

One of 'those' days again! I left the TVR at my sisters in Somerset on Monday and borrowed her dreadful punto to come to work in Portsmouth. I got a temporary car pass for the naval base yesterday and got in ok. This morning got stopped at the gate then had to wait 15 minutes for the police to come tell me the MoT ran out last week. I spent the next ten minutes worrying as they called my insurance company to confirm i had coverage. Thankfully i was ok on that score. I had to leave the car at the gate and walk to the office in the rain. Ive got to book it in to a local MoT station before they will let me leave in it. Such fun

If not give them a ring and ask...worth a try and about the only way you can avoid 3 points. You have to sit in a room for a few hours and pretend to be interested but it will keep your license. Tim.

Tim. The option may have been there but I attended the course in July 2009. You cant do another 1 within 3 years.

I just got an NIP for 81 in a 70 - first time caught speeding, so I have asked for a course. As much as I want to grumble about it, I was speeding, and got caught - no excuses.

Tough!....6 points here in 5 days, no bloody excuses I crossed a double white line with BiB 4 behind on a sh_tty wet night, could have given me a caution as road was clear ahead for a mile but no, there's three points sir!!
Then 5 days later a special, not even a full blown officer nailed me on a clear wide empty country road, sat just over the brow of a hill - 72 in a 60 limit!!! that's another three points sir!
Then the first lot lost my licence so the second lot summons me to court for a non producer!!!!OFFS.
Neither offence was in the Griff, just the lumbering old 75 Estate!!!
Man up and take your punishment and stop whingeing, you don't hear me going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on!;)

I feel for you, its not like the average speed limits are even primarily for safety, more congestion, but they will always argue (despite the facts) that speed is dangerous...

The only one I see going off regularly is the one between the J9 entrance joing the M42 and the M6/M42 split. Occasionally see one of the others go off on the M42 but rarely. I think the one you are talking about is close to the airport exit at J6? I travel the M42 both ways daily from J3 all the way to the M1. FFG
