Hi all

I am new to the forum. About half way through an LS7 Ultima GTR build. 700hp American Speed engine is at Heathrow as we speak...

Although I am several months away from completion, I have been thinking about the costs of trailering the car up to the factory then paying for them to test it (could be the best part of £1000 all in), versus driving it about 15 miles to our local test centre (Yeading) and taking the risk of it either not making it or failing. I would then drive it up to Ultima for them to give it the free once over after registration rather than before.

Any advice from others who have gone through this process would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Just completed ours with same engine as you I believe. We had the car picked up by the factory for a couple of finishing touches, the once over and for them to put it through the IVA. Was stress free and easy but did take quite a while as the factory are extremely busy.

Pics of build please!! smile

Will try to upload some pictures but can't right now as they all seem to be over the 2Mb limit.

When you do a reply hit the'upload image(beta) button.
The box 'Forum fit' should be ticked.
I believe this will resize the image for you.

Thanks Steve

That didn't work with the files I have which were about 3Mb each, however I managed to reduce the resolution a little.

Here are a couple of fairly random recent shots....

Chris - are you happy with the engine? Any comments about its characteristics on road and maybe on the track?

Only driven it once. We picked it up from Stoneleigh on Monday in the rain, it's the red one on the Stoneleigh thread. First impression were that it's incredibly smooth and easy to plod along the motorway in 5th gear but absolutely brutal when you open the taps even I tiny bit. Ask me again in a couple of months and I'll know a bit more.

The new spec factory "double adjustables". I have the same ones, see Cam An Build thread.
