Get a seat belt male connector and plug it in.

Route the seatbelt round the back of the seat and plug it in or buy a buckle and plug that in.

If it's the standard 9x7 affair, the chime can be disabled with a visit to your OPC. A few clicks on their PIWIS (and a lighter wallet) would rid it for good.

IMHO, best way of going about it without tinkering (read fooling) with the SRS system.

This - or even just plug it in, then climb in and sit on the seatbelt. Many a mini cab driver does this - should work equally well in a GT3 as it does in a Nissan Sunny.

On a 996 GT3 you can just pull the wire connector out of the sensor unit underneath the seat so it doesn't think anyone is sitting there - not sure if that will work on a 997 though.

Pre-tensioning of seatbelts in an accident for one i'd say.

Which is why all this talk including a dummy buckle off fleabay is really poor practice. The SRS system is pre-programmed to undertake a set of actions and uses the seat pressure sensor/belt buckle as inputs. Telling it you are buckled up when not is screwing up with the pre-programmed scenario's which could be potentially hazardous. nerd

Really, the proper course of action should be to consider just asking the opc to disable the chime.

Surely when wearing the 6 point harness this is irrelevant?

Indeed, however it's when the buckle is left in place as a permanent solution where it becomes a hazard.

This - it goes off pretty quickly - certainly in a 7.2. Maybe not in a 996.
