I've been getting around to replacing the dash panels in my Chim for a while - the old ones were cracked and tatty, plus the one around the stereo had been replaced (badly) at some point with a carbon panel.
Lots of people have the Leven brushed ally ones which look great, but I wasn't sure about how they'd look with a biscuit interior and the original black dials so I decided to go for walnut ones again. They're metal with a kind of walnut enamel and I'd bought them a couple of years ago but hadn't had the chance (or money) to get them fitted. Anyway, here they are:

So that's one thing ticked off the 'to do' list.

Bootiful!!!
Thanks! I'm so pleased with it.
It was done by Taylor TVR in Aylesford who I've been going to since Leven closed down and they've done a great job. While I was there, a couple turned up to collect theirs and they'd had the battery moved from the passenger footwell to the boot - it looked really good. It was housed in a carbon box with a trickle charger too. I'm seriously considering getting mine done though at 9 hours labour it's going to be a hefty bill.
I think the next job, unless something else goes catastrophically wrong in the meantime, is getting the interior sorted. As you can see from the pics, it's got a rather horrid brown carpet in it and I want to get that replaced and get the seats redone.
When I called Taylor TVR yesterday to ask about picking it up, they said 'It's all done but we had a problem - when we did the oil it came out all creamy' and my heart plummeted, thinking the head gasket had gone, but it turned out to be a different gasket which had been letting outside water in. Apparently, it was completely rotten and even had moss growing in it!
Really enjoyed the drive back - going through the Dartford Tunnel with maximum noise, some kids in a car pointing and waving, some guys in a bus giving me the thumbs up and a couple of builders in a van waving and smiling. It reminded me how much fun the Tiv is to drive.
