I know that this has been discussed before, however the search function is currently unavailable.

I need a new battery for a 54 plate 111R, the current one is the original from 8yrs ago. Whats the best options out there ? Need info soonest as need to get this ordered quickly, as not sure how long the current one will last.

Thanks

Well had to order something, so ended up going for a Bosch S5001. Now I just have to hope the old battery lasts until the new one gets here

I ordered a Bosch from Eurocarparts in Feb for my 111r. Paid £35 delivered with a 3 year guarantee, although iirc they were doing a 15% discount on all batteries at the time

Hopefully that was the S4001 version, otherwise my good deal, just became less so. The S5001 has a 5yr warranty

I just replaced the battery on my Elise.

Although a type 063 is standard, I fitted a bigger type 075.

It is a little bit wider, but actually fits perfectly on the foam pads in the boot.

By buying a Bosch S5 version I had a total battery capacity increase from 44Ah to 61Ah.

This is very useful if you car can sit for a week or two without being used.

Obviously it is a little bit heavier, but not enough to make any significant difference.

I used a Bosch on mine Simon. Recommend them. Not sure if you need to modify the bracket like I did on the S1. Mine was about £50 back then.

Thankfully fitted no problems at all. And the old battery lasted until the new one arrived too.

Now all I have to sort out, are brakes, rattles and a strange phenomenem with the coolant tank. New thread starting soon on that one
