Asked on SELOC, but no real results so far, so trying here.

My 2007 1zz Elise S is stalling when first starting up on a morning. It's fine if you press the loud pedal, but as soon as it returns to idle it cuts out. Does this for the first few minutes until it starts to warm, and is then fine, albeit still sounding a bit rough on idle.

Feels like in an 'olde worlde' car it needs the choke pulling out.

Been into f1 Lotus to check ECU software version, and that's fine, and no other errors or lights on the dash to report.

Anyone any ideas please, doing my head in!!

Thanks in advance.

Once had a 2 cv that did that. Changed the coil and all was well. Not quite the same I know but there we go.

not sure still this is problem mine is same 07 S had similar problem when I accelerate
suddenly stalled on motorway it was ECU software bug so upgraded to newer version of software everything fixed but wonder these five years not upgraded but most likely that's program issue I guess

Not an Elise of 1zz expert, but isn't this an idle control valve issue? Or has been mentioned before, the coil pack could need replacing.
