Hi there,

hope you guys are well.

I have a 2.0 diesel x3 and keep getting fault code p2620. Anyone able to advise a fix. Taken to several garages and seems the fault comes back? is it a an easy diy? if so easy steps?

They use diesel cleaner and is ok for a few weeks but then cant get more than 30mph with foot to the floor.

Your help will be much appreciated

look forward to your reply

Regards

Nick

That code means 'P2620 Throttle position , output signal - open circuit'

so the issue is with your throttle actuator.

It'll be on the end of your intake manifold, never done one so can't really comment on exactly what is involved.

If your cars pre facelift it's part# 16

if it's a facelift car with the N47 engine it's part# 17

hi there

thanks for your help.

took the cover off and located the part in question. Just seem like a few bolts and it comes off. Not done so as need part number to order new one. Do you have part number?

Just a few things:

took the plug off and the throttle actuater has four pins. the plug itself has 4 holes for the pins, but inside it looks like there are only three sensor connections. also the inlet manifold seems clea but door open.
assume this is normal.

you have been excellent.

look forward to your reply

You can get the part number from www.realoem.com

Just type in the two letters and first 5 numbers of your VIN and select the relevant parts category.

Pre-facelift M47N2 engine is #11 71 7 804 384

Post-facelift N47 engine is #13 54 7 804 373

However I would do as suggested above by rassi.

Enter the last 7 of the VIN, select 'Engine', then 'Intake Manifold'.

You may need to have fault codes cleared afterwards.

Not really, no.

As a 'shot to nothing' you could remove it clean it out with carb cleaner, refit, clear codes.......

Hallo, I have the same problem with a BMW E61 525 177PK. I have delete the code P0401. Code P2620 is not possible to delete. Can I juist drive with the car? Is it a big problem? Or have I to fix it before I drive? The engine smells like burnet plastic if I turn on airco.

Thanks for your help.

P2620 can be cleared.... I’ve done it myself using my diagnostics tool... Done nothing mechanically to car and has never come back!! But, I do get intermittent boost issues in low and high revs... fuel consumption seems to be poor. Any ideas?? Ps. I drive a 535d lci 2007 e60. All help appreciated
