New 991 Club Coupe

Don't get too excited, it's not a Clubsport but a special edition reserved for Porsche club members

Are you a member of the official Porsche club? Lucky you - you have the right to join a draw for one of 12 specially built Carrera S based 911 Club Coupes. As long as you don't live in China or India, where the competition won't be running. Assuming you're one of the lucky dozen you'll still have to pay 142,831 euros (plus VAT) for the actual car but just think of the glory when you bring it along to the next club gathering...

Porsche will be building 13 of these cars in recognition of the 13 owners who founded Germany's first Porsche clubs 60 years ago. It'll keep one for itself, the remaining 12 offered up in the draw. A special exhibition at the Porsche Museum has also been staged to celebrate the milestone and features a dozen rare or noteworthy Porsches and a host of other exhibits and memorabilia.

And what of the car? Well, it gets Brewster Green paintwork and colour-matched 20-inch wheels and the Powerkit upgrade to 430hp. Various trimmings signify the rarity of the car, including "lettering individually created for each customer", without mentioning what said lettering will spell out.

If you're tempted you can read all about the car here and declare your interest formally here with more information about the exhibition here.

How the other half live eh wink

If you like, Porsche will allow you to spend over £100k on one of their other 991s, and you can even pick the colour on those hehe

Choosing the colour of ones car is so vulgar, much better to just have the staff select one.

Best looking pork since the 993, but still not as pretty as the 993.

ONLY Porsche who sell a car like this! This is what limited edition really should mean, but does not very often.

Generally, many of the super-rich are deeply insecure, always afraid of being upstaged. Therefore, I'm sure there'll be plenty of interest in this bizarre sham raffle. In the world of mega-collectors, exclusivity is a powerful motivator.

Maybe I'm just in a grump today, but isn't all this extra-special, special customers, super special customers, black card, members only, invitaion only, extra-extra super-super special-special invitation customers only nonesense all getting a bit out of hand.

Don't rich people see it as the tosh that it is - they're not special, just rich.

This reminds me of the time I won the Nigerian lottery. All I had to do was pay a small admin fee of £10K to receive my winnings.......

They're testing the limits of the silliness of the brandistas.

....somewhere in Germany.....

"I know - lets have a competition to win a car!"

"Err...ok..."

"You haven't heard the best bit - the winner has to BUY the car! They'll be so dizzy from being called a 'winner', they won't realise what has happened!"

"Hahaha, brilliant."

I was just thinking it was a least a week since Porsche announced a new car, so very relieved not to have to wait another week.

This is hype at its best!

Fantastic looking car (wheels aside) and top marks to Porsche for coming up with such an inventive way of selling it!

Thinking the exact same!

There must be more staff in Porsche's marketing department than any other division. I blame VW biggrin

I suppose they have to help out the guy in the design team by dreaming up another variant or "special" edition of the 911!

you can spec that colour and that powerkit, so how is this car different?

I wonder how many people are going to enter this raffle who can't actually afford £120k or will there be a vetting process?

bizarre imo.

Is that a ducktail? In fact, can you order a ducktail spoiler as an option on the 991?

You asking sensible questions to which there are no sensible answers. You will be amazed what people will spend on "Limited Edition" stuff even though its exactly the same to the layman.
