Hi all,
The beloved SLINC monster has developed a very intrusive dash rattle(s)which AM Sevenoaks have tried (unsuccessfully)to sort while car was in for new brake pads.
They've advised a full "dash off" job to try and route out the problem.

Is this something AM Works Service would do, or is this type of work not their thing?

I just think they might perform a more thorough job than local service as have heard nothing but good things about the quality of their work.

I'm also struggling to find a direct tel no for them - just seems to be the main Gaydon number listed on their website (and they're not answering!?)

best,
SLINC

Well if Works can do full £250k restorations taking 2 years I'm sure they can remove a dash to cure a rattle!
Have you tried googling AM Works Service?

I've been blighted with the infamous dash rattles on previous Aston's which the usual suspects have failed
to fix.

No such problem when the boys from Newport Pagnell waved their oily rags at the job with magical success.

If your cars in warranty great! get it down there for a sure fire fix but if your out of warranty get ready to feel the pain.......

Slinc,

I've cured every dash rattle under the sun. Explain to me where it is and i'll tell you how to fix. Can even talk you through how to get the dash off. It really is a simple job when you know what you are doing.

Cheers
Lewis

Ker-ching!

I'd let Adrian and Gary have a look at it, they'll sort it for half the price and you might end up getting a 5.0 engine while you're up there as well wink

Well thanks for the offer!
I don't doubt your expertise but I very much doubt mine!!
I think I'll pass on a dash removal DIY job...
Have enough trouble with flat-pack furniture.

Drop me a PM if you want. There are some really common ones that dealers have struggled to fix on my car and are actually very straight forward.

For example, the most common and hardest to find is a metal rattle from the front near the window. That ones the bulkhead bolts and they are right under the defrost vents at the front. 5minute job to fix and no dash out required!

I have about 5 or 6 commons that are simple - only one requires the dash to come out and even then it's easy.

I have a rattle (possibly a few) in/around my dash on my db9 volante. Add to that some loud squeaks and an odd scraping sound when I turn left sometimes.
