Quite the opposite - bit of a bargain.

Hm, quite tempted. Problem is it would be my daily driver due to lack of space.

As much as I love my 7 I don't think that I could live with it as my daily drive.

I run a cheap hatch as a daily which helps off set the cost of running 2 cars.
The very cheap 7 insurance helps too.

Also a garage is essential for me.

There will be other valid opinions posted I'm sure thumbup

It's nice and shiny, but as an ex-racer the following may make it harder to live with as a daily driver:-
Hand-brake under dash
Bare ali centre tunnel may get a bit warm for you in hot weather
Does it have a heater or heated screen?
Short passenger footwell?

That's where they should all be smile

(I rarely use the handbrake on mine)

Fair enough, but easily sorted.

Again, easily fixed if not (I think I might have a heater somewhere).

I have used my 7 as a daily drive for most of the past 20+ years...

Dead easy!

I'd say it's a bit dear for an ex race vauxhall. Dealer pricing of course. Should be able to find a k series racer for similar money.

Expensive.

You should be able to pcik up a nice spec late K series for that money.

Buy it and come racing in Classic Graduates!
Seriously if you have any questions about this particular model, I know them inside out as it's identical to mine.
Under-dash handbrake does not necessarily make it ex-race, they were all fitted there on live axle cars (although this car probably was a Scholarship/Academy race car for at least the first year of it's life).
For £10k my money would be on a De-Dion 'k'-series. The Vauxhall 8v motor is a boat anchor.
Price isn't unrealistic and it's unlikely to depreciate if you get it for closer to £9k.

As long as you realise it isn't going to be a rocketship and don't get talked into upgrading it (the Nova engined cars are not cost effective or easy to upgrade) I am sure it'll give you lots of pleasure.

As others have said, you can get newer k series cars (dedion of course) for the same money but of course they have their own issues.

I would offer no more than £8,200 as you can get a really decent K-series for the money they're asking. That's not to say it is not a nice car, but the lump under the bonnet is a heavy one, albeit a reliable heavy one.

What Steve said. There's a nicer (IMO) 1.6 vx on p/heads at the moment. Having said that, I think a k series would be easier to live with for that sort of money on a day to day basis, having owned both. Good luck
