Have my car booked in for a warranty repair on the air-con and a little apprehensive at leaving my new pride and joy somewhere I'm unfamiliar with, having never owned a Porsche before. Are they generally good at what they do and take care of the cars? I'm hoping I might be able to stick around and have them carry out the repair whilst I wait (even if a few hours) but if not, I'll be making sure they know the car is immaculate, don't want it washing, and will log the mileage.

Bloody hell, you don't half worry!
It's an OPC, not Baz's Backstreet Autos Emporium.
Take it, drop it off, use the courtesy car and stop whittling. Tell them not to wash it - they won't!

they'll rob bits off it, do donuts in the car park and use it for the Maccy D run at lunch

I use them all the time and they are very good albeit at OPC prices. Alan Dyde in the service department is first class, but I have never had a problem with anyone there. If you are out of warranty I also know of an excellent indie in the area not mentioned on this forum. Steve

Steve Thanks mate, but the car is only 3 months old so well within warranty I might ask for Alan Dyde.

Marcus is also very good there and I think runs the service department. He has been there a long time and has an excellent reputation. Obviously the YTS boys taking your car to bits is another matter

Well, car went in this morning, dealing with Danny. Told them I had a couple of hours spare in case they wanted to try and fix rather than giving me a courtesy car. They agreed but after 2 hours thinking it was fixed, it wasn't, so now have the car for a day or two to resolve. Given me a Cayman to drive around in (better than the alternative, a merc!) which is actually handy because it is a lesser model so nice to learn all the basics in.
Service so far has been very good, but will update once back and car fixed. Still annoying having to go through this, but not Wilmslows fault as I didn't buy from them.

Wheres Khushy ? He must surely have an opinion on this !!! I refer to the fact I've only just got the car, never owned a Porsche before, still going through the run-in process, still precious about it being spanking new. So having an older run-in Cayman to further learn the limits is nice. I have to put some kind of positive spin on the fact my car is already in the garage for work!!!

Mike LOL - it has been a while since I have been to Wilmslow, not let my cars get old enough for a service. I called him a couple of weeks back and was told he wasn't in that day! Why could they not just admit he had left.

From what I gather, it is Alan, Danny and Stuart these days.
