Hi, I am told the Chimaera alloy roof stays will fit my TVR S3. Anybody know where I can get a couple from?

Thanks

Yep but geometry is slightly different and you have to re-drill one mounting hole each side

Hello Gerald-Tvr (Norman isn't it?), Have you replaced them on your S?

I was hoping it was a straight swap. Do you have any details about the re-drilling? ie. is it obvious where to drill, or am I likely to install them incorrectly?

Thanks

Here are some on e-bay at the moment linky

Nothing to do with me, but the price is about normal.

Fitting is pretty straight forward, as others have said just a case of drilling new holes fractionally below your current holes in the rear/lower panel. If you fit them in place on the hoop section and then offer up to the lower panel with the hood up you'll see where you need to drill. Just make sure that you tension the hoop so you get a nice tight fit.

Try and do it on a warm day, it helps if the hood & window are quite flexible. I was lucky, mine fitted into the exisiting holes so give it a try before drilling new ones. You might get away with just easing out the bottom of the existing holes.

Yep thats me I did replace them on Gerald my S2 now moved on, about 1/2" or less BUT it depends on the car each pair of stays were individually fitted at the factory to give the correct tension to the rear hoos section!! TVRs - each is an individual!!

I'm seeing Han at the Le Mans Classic over weekend of 7 & 8 July so if anyone wants these I can bring them back to UK and post from home (or arrange for you to collect) which will save you some £s on shipping from Holland wink
