Cayman R MAN = 100 (2 sorn) Cayman R PDK = 103 (4 sorn)
Sorry if posted already, hadn't realised Q1 had been updated for 2012. Mine is one of 100 manuals then.
I know there are more to come, but given production stopped in January and there isn't many coming through, I'd be very surprised if we end up with 200 of each in the UK. Will be more than Boxster Spyders, but not by much I reckon?!?!

Well, sure it is of interest to those with CR's.
Not every thread on this forum will be to your taste.

Just really didn't get the point of your statement regarding the number of cars in the UK. Hope yours is awesome tho. Get out and drive it?

Most OPC's that have been forced to pre-register them by Porsche did so in March (like mine) so I don't think there will be many more, though as you say, we'll have a clearer picture in a few months.

I do enjoy driving my R. Also quite interested to know what the likelihood of my seeing another one is......remote it would seem.

I thought otherwise. I still do. There should be more given that the CR is less compromised than the spyder, but a perceived lack of differentiation led to poor sales and despite winning autocar coty, it was not a sales success. In the endI think the numbers will be comparable if not slightly lower as I had envisaged... You seem to think lots more will come on stream. I disagree and still do.

I think it is interesting that there is a (more or less) 50:50 split between manual and PDK. 100 is not a huge sample but it is more than those moisturiser companies use and my GF buys load of that s t. If this trend is continued across a greater number of buyer in other markets, it might bode well for the manual GT3s survival.

the sample size is too small and a lot of the cars are dealer spec.ed
if the car had been more popular, I bet the PDK versions would be more plentiful but it is similar to the spyder which means that majority were bought by enthusiasts

Not so sure, seems to have been a good mix recently, but then we are now talking what Porsche built that need shifting rather than dealer spec'd cars.
Interesting that there are only 7 CR's showing available via the OPC network at the minute. When I was looking a few weeks ago there were 20, and last week 14, so half of those have presumably been sold since.

hokempokem i still do but i will revise my estimate down from 300 cars to about 250!the last cayman R was built in feb.12 yet on the opc approved its showing a car first registered june 12 and i am sure you will see cars first registered for example october 2012. i presume iandews you got your figures from how many left which i find so inaccurate.it shows for the spyder 194 regd and 12 sorn yet using the dft site it shows that 230 cars were regd new in 2010/11 so what happened to 14 cars?hence as i said before for the true numbers for the R we will have to wait until april 2013 for the release of number of cars sold new in 2012 by the dft unless someone else digs up figures from a reliable source.
