Hi, I was sort of looking for a pair a couple of months ago, some came up on e-bay, but went to over 50 quid, they came with gaskets, but I am not sure if they are different to standard. Sure someone on here will know.

Hi Mike , yes i saw those but i had to wonder about reusing the old gaskets , i always like to change gaskets every time. I already have the rocker covers but am wondering whether to just make some gaskets up , its not really hard i suppose ,it would be nice to have some pre made ones .
Cheers for the reply
Paul.

They use std gaskets, these do seem to be quite rare and expensive, you will I beleive need to modify your alternator bracket, good luck.

Paul,

I have just bought a set of aluminum rocker covers myself, they are in the process of being polished. Can you point me to the thread on altering the alternator bracket????

Maybe we can compare notes on fitting.

Regards

Tom

Here is the link for what I did.

Pretty straight forward with a bit of patience. Might be worth trying the 'bending' option mentioned at the end of the post first?

Hi Paul, the hoses where on the car when I bought it. I'm pretty sure they are genuine Ford items (thought they were standard TVR fit for the 2.9 S but when is anything 'standard' on a TVR!) and are much more substantial than they appear, being quite stiff rather than flexible.
What have you got on yours?
Oh! Mine is an S3c so it's plenum to air filter (no AFM's) but not sure why that would make any difference.

Cheers, Stu

Thanks for getting back Stu , my AFM hoses are similar but dont look as sturdy and dont have those nice end couplings onto the plenum. May well have to keep a lookout or shoot down my local motor factor and see what they can find ,
Once again , thanks for help/info ,
regards Paul.

Hi Tom, the car is at a location away from my home so I can't measure them until tomorrow but for your information I got them from Chris 'Barkychoc'.
If you drop him a PM he may let you know his original supplier.

They have been on the car for a couple of years and I can confirm they are still like new. smile

Tom,

I've had a chance to measure the 'TVR' badges on the alloy rocker covers for you. They are 38mm high and 96mm long.

Hope that helps.

That makes them the same size as the ones on the bonnet.

Anybody looking for alloy covers? If you do buy, then take account of the advice re alternator clearance BUT it is possible, even on a 2.9 to modify the alternator bracket to get the clearance (see thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Two sets on ebay:

Anyone know if these quieten down the tappets on the Cologne lump? Mine's pretty smooth compared with much of what comes through the door at work, but I can still hear them and I hate tappet noise laugh
