I was hoping to get some owners guidance on the Lamborghini Gallardo coupe or spyder.
I am very close to jumping into ownership later this year.
This is my dream machine and all comments would be a real help. Servicing and running costs, parts etc.

Thanks in advance

read through the last 100 threads in this section of the forum. Several threads on the same topic, plenty of already covered ground.

If you're asking about servicing, you can't afford it. And that isn't supposed to be as snyde as it sounds. smile

At some point, you will get a huge bill. Mostly, you will just get big bills.

It's more like yacht ownership than car ownership, as in, bargain 10-15% of the value in running costs. wink

insurance <900/year
tracker <300/year
extra bolts for garage door (optional)
code reader <15
valet/detail (optional)
petrol ... over 100£ on occasion, being soft on the gas, you might get 18mpg combined!!! currently filling up about every 180 miles...

road tax 495 (i think)
biggest service 2500 (but can be had for a lot less)
tyres at some point c1200

I had my Gallardo for 2 years, I did 20,000 miles in it. Very reliable car and not massively expensive to run if you use somewhere like Carrera sport or Emblem to service it.

I agree that if you are dreaming about it and can afford it, then don't wait. I've had mine for 7 months now and can't be happier.

The costs so far after 3,000 miles

insurance 900-1000
road tax 460
rear tyres 660
mot 50

Petrol is 80-95 per fill up and I'm getting 200-250 before it too low to get to where I want to get to. I've averaged about 17mpg with mainly motorway cruising ~80-90 when clear.

I was very lucky with the timing of the purchase as Lamborghini Reading serviced the car prior to taking ownership (part of their policy to include a service if needed within 3 months of purchase). This turned out to be the big 4-year service (~2,500) rather than the annual one (~700).

Am planning a European trip to the Italian GP in September taking in France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. A total of about 2,000 miles.

Same for me barring the petrol ;-) important to note I've covered 8k miles(vast majority on motorways) in 14 months and no further expense! I can't recommend them enough just wish I could keep mine forever :-(

I know! "'twas a long winter. Every mile has been fun though, as no mundane commuting mile in that lot... I'll be in touch very shortly don't worry

But that's because you paid £500,000 for yours. They told you it was "one of a kind"
