Anyone have one? How is it? I'm thinking of getting one, but can't make my mind up. Anyone have any opinions on it, and pictures?
Cheers

Driven one and own the saloon. I rate it v.highly and more so than the 4.0 M3 - which i found a tad boring in comparison. The n/a 6.3 engine with it's mountain of torque just feels so well suited to this car imo. Build quality i find is excellent too. Gearbox comes in for some criticism, but once used too... not as bad as some reviews make out. I think the problem is the current trend is for twin-clutch gearboxes atm. Noise is just epic. Limited slip diff a must. Extra power from Performance Pack Plus noticeable. Do it!

Had mine about 5 weeks now and done 1,800 miles.....great car, amazing engine, love starting it from cold and it drives well, centre console control thingy is a bit crap, build quality seems decent, gearbox could be faster but in auto its fine and that's where 90% of the time it's used, ride could be a bit better, seems underdamped and crashy in comfort but is easy to live with, best bit for me is that it doesn;t look too flash, most don;t know what it is but all look when they hear it coming! Love it

Thanks guys. So the limited slip dif is an option yeah? I'm in Gibraltar by the way so I haven't even seen one of these yet! Might drop around some dealers in Spain and see if I can get a look at one.
Out of interest does anyone know when the next model of this will come out, will it be 1 year, 2,3?

I take it you have the 19"s? I have driven both wheel sizes back-to-back and the 18"s have a noticeably greater compliancy.

had my C63 for 2 months and 3k very happy miles.
As well as epic engine noise/grunt/NOISE the Gearbox in manual mode is fantastic.outrageous pops and bangs on down changes and explosions on full throtle upshifts Ride on 18s and standard suspension is fantastic.

As a road car it beats the M3 in my book!

As a track car..well I drove mine at silverstone back to back with a dct M3 and the sideways lunacy just fantastic! M3 slightly sharper turn in and firmer damping give it a slight edge..and ultimately its a little quicker over a lap.

Overall, the c63 in standard spec (with lsd) is the better overall everyday car with the occassional track day.

If you remap the c63 (520hp!!!) then it will be no contest!

Just my 2c.

^^^ good info that. Makes me excited to be getting mine!

Out of interest, what have you found regarding remaps as there seems to be a bit of conflicting info?

I am sure all the reputable companies do the same thing...so 510 is a sure thing with them all.

However Eurocharged sell a programmer to allow you to load a map, revert to stock, reload the map..probably going to get my money soon..

I have one with out PPP or LSD. I can still confirm though it remains an INSANE car. Ive had a fewe different ones and this one is the one that makes me smile the most. As said before the bangs, pops and grunts on the gear changes up & down make me smile every time. You will find you want to drive it in S+ (think it stands for Silly Plus) all the time. I have the 19" and yep harder ride but I got those for the aesthetics which again are well received on this car.

My spec is magnetite black, black privacy and matt black alloys. So black.

internal - exactly what you expect from Merc - lovely comfortable interior. Yep COMAND screen could be higher but the SW update means the linguatronic (hope i spelt that correctly) works correctly (the one on my ML350 2012 is ste). The iPhone plug in works great, theres a USB to charge your GoPro on track days....I could go on but i think you see that I really do rate these cars.

For the amount you pay you get a shed load of car, in terms of super car performance for brand new. yes you could lift a 360 for less but then its not got the comfort etc ... its all personal choice really.

Buy it, run it in to 1k miles. Then rip the tracks (and a few A roads) apart.....

Enjoy

DJ

That looks fantastic! How do you like the Magnetite Black? Is it more like a dark charcoal colour or is it like a bluey black? Can't really tell from the photos.

Love the Magnetite. My ML is the other black (Obsidian?) ..... Magnetite is more grey/charcoal/black effect - more like graphite I would say.

Thanks everyone for the input. Sounds like the consensus is it's a great car. Am I right to say in the UK you are looking at £70,000 once you add the options most would want? The other car I've been thinking about is a GTR although down here they are equivalent of about £80,000.
Does anyone know when the C63 Coupe will be replaced, are we talking a year or two or more?

Probably not far off £70k, but there could be some deals to be had (I think Mercedes are making a £7k "contribution" at the moment). Note that there are severe supply issues with the 6.2 engine at the moment - for new orders placed now you are looking at a Jan/Feb/March delivery, according to MB head office.

I believe the new C class will be released sometime in 2014. The coupe replacement might be later though, not sure.

That's not good if it really is the case :cry

I'm currently trying to place an order for a coupe and they're talking about October delivery - I think I'll have to double check as waiting until October is bad enough, next March would really piss me off frown

Yes, I did wonder if they were talking rubbish, although I have heard similar information from several independent sources. You could well be lucky and get an October delivery, or manage to jump into an existing build slot if you can find one. Good luck smile

In the latest Evo mag they say the C63 coupe has a twin-clutch gearbox... "the same seven speed twin-clutch box as used in the SLS"

I thought the latest C63 was single clutch... Anyone confirm this?

Given my lack of knowledge of anything mechanical I couldnt answer. All I can tell you is that it changes gear lightening fast and makes mine (and the drivers of the cars i am passing) ears bleed.... :-)

In the August edition of Evo, they clarify their mistake. The C63 coupe does not have a double clutch, it uses the AMG SpeedShift MCT box. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_7G-Tron...

Still a fantastic gearbox though.
