I gave the car a bit of a check over yesterday before the Castle Combe track day on the 9th and was a bit concerned about something on one of the rear shocks.
A quick phone call into the factory and Derek told me it was nothing to worry about but was happy to put it on the ramps for me, send a couple of bits out in the post if I wanted to have the changeable bits to hand when I took the shock off or I could send it back for repair/replace, dependant on what I found.
The option of putting it on the ramp was my choice and he couldnt make it this morning so arranged for someone to look at the car for me. (hope the back is better soon Derek if you read these forums)
They soon confirmed nothing wrong but and took the shock off to inspect the spacers as a precaution. No problems found and peace of mind.
Thanks Gaz!

The Monotubes are a completely different design to Gaz Golds in that they have a floating piston and are nitrogen charged, they react quicker to undulating roads, kerbs on track and good old potholed B roads.
There are a number of cars at TVR specialists that you can go out in before you buy. Give the helpline a call on 07795 293018 to find the nearest test drive to you

I think abshocks has given the tech description.
To me they just feel better, the ride is more akin to a nice merc, even though I have stiffer than standard springs (450 fr, 400 rear) it's actually more supple when driving, there's no bobbing at all either and when pressing on they feel like they stiffen when needed iykwim. They are also lighter than ggp's.
Very pleased with them and partly went for them over nitron because gaz are local to me and they will sort any issue no quibble (not that I have had any) they feel as good as some eibachs coil overs I had on another car years ago which can only be a good thing.

How do the costs compare between the two types of shocks?
Are the mono's a retrofit or are any mods required?
Thanks.
