Well I say just but that was about 3 hours ago, been diving around since biggrin What a car, I cant stop grinning.

Couple of questions....

Is it possible to get extended seat rails? Im 6'5" and would really appreciate even a fraction more leg room, I'll suffer it if I have to but when I need to get a good handful of steering my knees are in the way.

Also, the spoiler comes up automatically at 75 ish, at what point does it go back down? I dropped down to 50 and it was still up.

Tomorrow morning I will have to get up early to take the car on a 10 mile drive to warm it up ready for the 2 mile run from my house to my office biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Congrats on the new car, they are fantastic machines! Regarding the spoiler - I believe it raises at 75mph then lowers itself again once you hit 30mph.

Regarding seat and wheel problems. I have seen one where the owner had put a slightly smaller official sport steering wheel on. This then gives enough space for comfortable steering without knees getting in the way. Maybe a good mod for you.
By the way. Great choice. Awesome car. What spec is it?

Since you're in Aberdeen was it the one in the classifieds? Did you have the GT3 wheels?
Very nice either way, good choice.

Congrats!
Might I suggest living with it for a while before you alter the rails or steering wheel, I'm 6'4" and it took a while for me to get comfortable in mine, that said I actually have to have my seat slightly forward and more reclined as I'm longer in the body.
Enjoy your new toy!

I'm 6'4" and have the same wheel / knee issue with most cars ! On my 996 I've fitted THIS, an RS wheel. The boss moves it slightly further out and the wheel itself is slightly smaller. It's still not perfect but it does add a little more space. It uses a standard six bolt fitting, I might add an extra spacer at some point to bring it closer still.

Yep that's the one but no to the GT3 wheels as the seller is putting those onto his 997.

Interesting, how does that affect the airbag?

It moves it quite a long way. All the was to a shelf in the garage smile

A 2.7 ohm resistor fools the car into thinking the airbag is still fitted.

If you're not comfortable with having no airbag, your options for increasing knee room are very limited.

Coming from a TVR so... what's an airbag anyway?

As long as I can get through an MOT im happy to lose it.

I had my first drive in one yesterday, X50 model with a remap. Typically the Sunday drivers were out a day early so not much chance to make continual rapid process, but when the opportunity arose the acceleration and poise was epic. I had driven 993TT's before and the 996TT felt a lot more rapid (the 993's were remapped too, but I was quite disappointed with the performance). I had been thinking about a 997TT, but I can get a nice Golf GTI for everyday use for the difference in price.

Waiting for a trade in price for my current car and if the price is right an inspection will be sorted out.

Another seduced by the boost.

Now get it remapped to really unleash it.
