Hi all.
So, I am really keen on detailing i.e. 2BM washing, claying, machine polishing and waxing/sealants etc. But with so many little gaps i.e. in the bonnet, tiny little gaps by the windows etc I don't want to ruin the car by endlessly washing etc. I DEFO am not going to use a pressure washer. My plan is to use something along the lines of optimum no rinse? But it is more what products do people use for the leather interior, the hood/roof, what polishes/sealants/machine polish compunds etc have people used in the past.
The car is the best I have seen and has received so many positive comments from car club members - so I am keen to keep everything - chassis, engine etc all in top condition.
Any advise is really welcomed.
Thanks.
p.s. I do regularly visit detailing world and asked for advise on there. Didn't get much of a response though...

I usde to ask a bit on there too but unless you are one of the pro's it seems you get totaly ignored and told you dont know what your doing, pay someone hundreds of pounds to do it!
I'm just detailing my chim for the 1st time since I have had it this weekend products i'm using:
bilt hamber clay - only one thats suitable for water and gets a good amount of crap off too!
Autosmart Tardis, awesome tar reomver at a great price, simples
Gthechs:
P1 polish - AWESOME polish, pad dependant, will work very well for heavy correction with a medium/heavy cut pad, but go down to a medium/light cut pad it will finish off lovley with no holograms
G4 window polish kit - includes a polish, sealant and sealant remover, a bit like rain x, just better
Poorboys blackhole - great as a quick fix fillerm gives awesome reflections but like with any filler, reduces the longevity of most sealants/wax
poorboys Ex-p - great value sealant, last well and gives a nice wet gloss look, would love to try blackfire on my car as I think it would help with 'flake pop' but PB's will do for now. ex-p also works great on wheels stopping the brake dust from sticking to the wheels and just wipes off with ease!
this weekend I am trying renovo for the 1st time on the hood, cleaner, dye and sealant, most interested in how the sealant beads and waterproofs
got my own home made sun gun to find out the swirls
I havent used it in the chim as I ran out but use to use megs nxt interior something or other in the BMW and that gave a lovley finish, I am planning on redoing most of the interior so havent paid a huge amount of attention to it.
then just a silverline rotary polisher and a mix of hexlogic and gtechs pads.

Your using similar sort of products I have used previously. Be interesting to know how the renovo does. Also what washing methods do you use with the chim?

All similar products to me too :-) First w/e I had the Chim I used the renovo cleaner & protectant and it appears to work very well :-)
I've tried most Bilt Hamber products now. The independent reviews seem to rate tem & they're British to boot :-)

Was recommended not too by car club members and I can see why with all the exposed electrics etc. my paintwork is the same. Looks excellent but with a proper detail it'll be stunning! How hard did you feel the paint was? Did it require a fair amount of working?

How hard did you feel the paint was? Did it require a fair amount of working? not sure just how soft the paint is, always thought it was very soft but think it is a bit harder than 1st thought! I went over once with P1 and a wool mops which removed almost all the imperfections bar the deep scratches which I just aint gunna get out. then againg with the medium pad getting lighter as I finished. TBH I think if I had the time I would have liked to have gone over again with a finishing pad as in one or two areas there still some holograms left and possibly some black home as it does leave superb reflections!

ditto, other cars I have had I knew exactly what would suit the car, chims have been hard though! liked the azevs I had but I chose these for being lighter and being staggered as well, still undecided what colour to paint them though, gloss black of Silver, always thought silver until I fitted them and I quite like the black now!

I've got std wheels on mine painted black, but fancy some anthracite wheels. This is what I would go for:

I love the metal grey or shadow chrome look BUT a mid tone does not suit a dark blue at all, I think it has to be black or a bright silver.

hmmm that is quite tempting, and as they are gold they will be worth more and faster right? would certainly make it stand out.....
